Dr. Cherry Cockrell, MD

Dr. Cockrell always listens to what I say and spends whatever time is necessary to deal with my health issues. She's been terrific with referrals for my specialty needs and is very positive and encouraging. She's generally on time and always gives me a written Patient Plan that covers everything we talked about in our session--which is just great!

She is very argumentative. She took over for my prior doctor (changed specialties) and does not take the time to look at my medical history at all and has been repeatedly rejecting to order blood tests that my prior doctor ordered every year due to my chronic health issues. The tests are inexpensive and I pay for them anyway out of pocket mostly (I have a high-deductible for my insurance). The tests are not normal for my age but I have health issues not normal for my age and the tests are very standard for those health issues. She doesn't take the time to look over my medical history nor the notes from my prior doctor of many years and just denies ordering the tests with the attitude that she is the doctor and I have no say in my health or what blood tests I can get? I've gotten to the point of sending her links to the Mayo Clinic and other reputable websites like PubMed due to her not being able to understand what these very common blood tests are for.

I always leave Dr. Cockrell’s office feeling my concerns were heard. Lately I have been having a particularly hard time and she has been there for me beyond expectations - not only quickly identifying what direction to go for a diagnosis, but also taking the time to guide me through obstacles with specialists and follows up with me to ensure my care stays on track. She is the perfect example of what a good primary care provider should be. I highly recommend her - if I could put over 5 stars, I would.

Dr. Cockrell was amazing! She actually listened to me, and my concerns. I've had doctors just look at me confused when I try to explain my issues, and not give any kind of advice to solutions. That is not what Dr. Cockrell did, she looked listened and understood what I was trying to explain. She gave clear and understandable instructions and advice, and we even schedule a follow-up appointment during the visit, so I wouldn't have to call back.

Dr. Cockrell is literally the best! I am so thankful to finally find MY doctor! A doctor that listens to her patients, is so genuinely kind, and is an expert at what she does.

She is just fantastic. Smiles, playful but totally serious when it comes to my health. Going to her is like talking to a friend who is your doctor. No matter is trivial but not pushy about my tendencies to put off stuff. I really like my doc.

I am extremely satisfied with the level of care that Dr. Cockrell provides. During monthly appointments for a chronic condition, she continually spends the time needed to listen to my thoughts and questions. More importantly, she fully explains her treatment recommendations. If there are different treatment options, she outlines the pros and cons of each and a decision is made in partnership. I've referred my wife and several co-workers and highly recommend others as well.

I called Dr. Cockrell's office to reschedule my appointment. After listening to the phone ring and ring, I got a recording that told me all the staff was busy and I should call back later, and I was then disconnected. I decided to cancel my appointment and NOT reschedule. I would like the confidence of knowing if I needed to reach my doctor, I would be able to do so!

Find a new doctor!!! My visit with Dr. Cockrell was horrible. She lacked the ability to listen to my concerns. As she asked me a series of questions about my health she disregard my emotions in regards to each question. As I began to cry during our visit she said “we’ll talk about that later” but never did. I didn’t feel as though she cared and wanted to hurry up and get me out of there. She lack compassion. I walked out of there worse than I came in mentally and was physically tired. I understand she is not a Therapist. However, in this field doctor must be well rounded. There was other things that I wish not to discuss about her. I am a good judge of character and I urge you not to visit her her bedside manner is not equipped for your well-being. Felt I didn’t trust her and felt disrespected as though I wasn’t intelligent enough to read between the lines. I personally rate her zero stars..

Commucatipn between Dr. AND OFFICE APT. LACKS COMMUNICATION SKILLS Dr. dosent always get messages from front office staff.

Excellent physician who takes her time with each person she sees. She has been tremendously helpful in the 3 months she has been my doctor. I had to change primary care doctors as my former PCP who was excellent moved. I was hoping for a doctor who was as good as he was and I can say Dr. Cockrell is just as great.

I have never had a doctor that gives you as much personal attention as Dr Cockrell. I never felt like she was in a hurry and she always followed through on things and in a timely manner. I would trust her 100% with my heath. If I still lived in St Louis she would be my doctor for life!
