Very unprofessional
I had Dr. Gibson as my doctor in 2022 for my first pregnancy, we found out our baby had trisomy 21 and my husband and I were devastated. When we went in for our first follow up appointment Dr. Gibson acted as if nothing were wrong, she was very tactless. We were clearly very emotional and wanted to discuss what confirmatory tests were available and what options we had. She said “I thought you might be the kind of parents that would say I’ll take whatever god will give me.” My husband and I are not religious - we have nothing against people who are, but we ourselves have the freedom and choice to not be. We found her comment completely inappropriate and insensitive. Who says that to someone? Doctors aren’t supposed to show their biases, I’m paying for medical expertise, not your opinions. She made a difficult, trying time much more difficult and trying. The high risk doctors I saw for the amnio and follow up were much more cognizant and understanding of how difficult our situation was.

Best OBGYN I’ve had.
I’ve never reviewed a doctor before but Dr. Gibson is truly special. She was recommended to me by a well respected professional at Baylor. I’ve had 2 babies under her care. I am pregnant with my 4th now and heartbroken that I can’t see her anymore because of a change in insurance. She is the best doctor I have ever had, hands down. She makes you feel like a friend. If you are someone who prefers a natural birth, Dr. Gibson is an amazing advocate. I recommend her to anyone that is looking for an OB-GYN. Especially if you are planning an unmedicated birth. Supportive doctors are not easy to find. She respected any decision I made and advocated for me any time it was needed.

Very unprofessional "Doctor" and office. Gibson decided before I arrived she would not take me as a patient because I mentioned on the portal that my previous doctor from 11 years ago made a comment about the appearance of my placenta after I was coming from anesthesia from delivery and this is a comment from 11 years ago and I also mentioned my former doctor whom I adore unfortunately she left the practice but she said something was thin and that exactly what I said with no medical basis and I simply stated so I would not forget to address those things because they were so minimal I knew I would forget and I wanted to address trying for a natural birth. Gibson said she would not take me as a patient because I was high risk because I said that on the portal and she is a solo practice, i never had a doctor that was not in solo practice. So my issue is not that she declined me as a patient because she reserves the right to decline someone because the color of the hair if she chooses although it is nonsense but she has that right. My issue was how she handled the communication of relying that message to me. the office waits until I took off work, left my child's event at school drove all the way to the office and my guy drove a hour plus for them to secretly take me to the back like it was underground railroad for them to tell me she wasn't going to take me as a patient which Gibson herself should have met with me at my appointment time which I arrived early for and had this conversation with me. The lady at the first desk and nurse are having this conversation about me being a liability to the doctor and she's not skilled enough as doctor to take me as a patient based on trivial comments made through the portal so I explain i think they are overreacting and this is a simple miscommunication so after the 3-5 minute discussion they tell me to go have a seat in the lobby while they talk to Gibson, I'm like can i speak to her directly instead of someone speaking for me and the lady at the front desk seem perturbed with me which is laughable. now this has become the telephone game with the doctor which is nonsense I'm right there in the office why not just speak to me directly and let's address the concerns and why am I still sitting in the front if they claim she is not going to take me as a patient so I go outside to make a phone call and the lady at the front desk follows me out explains something about what if i go into cardiac arrest, so unprofessional if you do not have a medical degree as a doctor you should avoid all medical conversations. then she has the audacity to suggest I reschedule an appointment to discuss these very concerns to resolve any miscommunication; now why in the heck would I do that and I'm standing in my very appointment time now listening to the front desk person tell me why she thinks the doctor won't take me as a patient(the telephone game). moral of the story if Gibson was busy with a patient going into labor they should have called me to reschedule before i left the house or maybe its because she has 12 patients for the month of November which seems very excessive to me either way humble yourself as a "doctor", she should never feel above her patients where she feels she can blow them off and that their time is not just as valuable as hers, we all put our pants on one leg at a time and even if you were terrified that you weren't skilled enough as a "doctor" to take me as a patient because of my comments from the portal with no medical basis you could have still met with me and even discussed the possibility of you being my doctor for women's wellness exams. The office visit was distasteful and a true waste of my time something that could have been sent in the portal or a simple phone call that easy.

Dr. Anderson is wonderful. Personable and knowledgeable. Makes you feel comfortable. However, the staff at the office are indifferent, act rushed and discuss personal issues at the desk in front of patients. They need some empathy training, pronto. It's also difficult to get calls back from nursing staff, if they ever do decide to call back. Very disappointing.
