I am a male who found Dr Mayer to be an excellent and sensitive physician. He went the extra mile on a couple of things and referred me to some mental health assistance as well. I was referred to some specialists for some other things, and they were more the usual type of physician - disconnected and a bit cynical. I never got that vibe from Dr Mayer at all. He seems to take his oath very seriously, shows he cares, and puts in the time to deal with insurance as well. Ideal physician.

Dr. Mayer made extremely homophobic comments during my visit and was completely clueless about both my condition and medication. He said you probably know more about this than me and told me I needed to see a specialist. He copied and pasted recommendations from the internet in my treatment plan. He was adamant I would not need a referral to see a specialist, but this was not even true! I had to go through the extra trouble of contacting his office again to get the referral. DO NOT recommend!
