Dr. Charles Lebowitz, MD

Social Security Disability asked me to see their doctor, due to my Mild Cognitive Impairment likely related to Alzheimer's diagnosis. They wanted shoes left in the car. I was not going to walk on the pavement, sidewalk, and in the office with bare feet. The waiting room was divided in half with plastic from the floor to ceiling with one chair in the corner. A large floor fan blew into my face, apparently to keep any covid away from them. The doctor came into the waiting room and introduced himself from about 10 feet away. I started to get up and he panicked saying do not get any closer, and do not breathe on me. He stood way at the other end on the other side of the plastic. He asked me what disability I had and I said I was diagnosed with MCI after taking a MOCA test. He did not know what those were. He said your memory seems fine to me, as I could answer those questions. He said you can go. He did not want to know about problems on the job or anything else.

Visited Dr. Lebowitz over the last year I lived in Tampa and he was always extremely accommodating and able to work with me to see results I wanted to. Even through COVID he and his office quickly adapted to meet the needs of patients who needed to be seen in person.

Had a visit for a physical with social security. He stood 8-10 feet from me and had me stand and due neurological test not a complete physical. Wouldn’t listen to me and pushed me back out the door as quick as I came in it. Mind you all from 8-10 feet away with two masks on and a face shield. Also was told they had to sanitize area for me and when I left out the door they called next person right in . So practice what you preach sanitizer and protect your pt. The arrogance he has and his staff had really surprised me ! I suffer from many health issues and anxiety is a big one massive attack and didn’t even care to inquire while I was the way I was only stand lift arms walk bend which I am unable to bend and lift right arm up as he asked so he became irritated with that. Also have a limp when I walk due to pain in back wasn’t happy with that either. Waiting for his report because he is very very unprofessional by all standards. So is his staff

Hours are very unreasonable, they often leave before their stated closing time and will not return calls after 1:00 pm. The receptionist/ nurse practitioner is also incredibly unprofessional and clearly has no respect for her patients; I went to the office at 8:00 one morning because no one returned my phone calls & I needed a prescription refilled. She didn't get off her cell phone the whole time I was trying to talk to her, and when I went to sit down to wait for Dr. Lebowitz to show up she said something nasty about me under her breath, which I heard and immediately left after. If you have a job and/ or value human decency, choose a different doctor.

He is very arrogant.

We had been patients of Dr. Lebowitz for a few years. We have always been able to get an appt when needed for our schedule. We travel a lot for work and call sometimes the same day to get in. The practice is only Dr L, you are not going to seeing another Dr that does not know you. He is has one girl on Staff and Debbie knows us so well and treats us like a friend. I could go on and on and , but I think you get the idea. Small practice with knowledgable Dr L. with a big Heart!

Best doctor I have been to in many years. He takes special attention to what is going on. I have recommended others to go see him and they have done the same. Office visit doesn't take too long and the longest I have waited is 10 to 15 minutes. In and out usually in about 30 minutes.

If I could give no stars, I would. I recommend finding another doctor's office, that values their patients and any concerns that patient may have. Good luck finding an appointment that works with your schedule (their door says they are open 9-5 Monday through Friday but that is only their answering service, they are maybe there for 4-5 hours every couple of days). I went to see Lebowitz for a consult on my change in temperament and excessive weight gain. Blood work was recommend, so I can check

Poor experience. I had high expectations after scheduling but all it is is a scheduling outsourced company. You can't get a hold of the doctor directly even through their portal they push to everyone. He does not call back either. Although doctor himself is friendly dealing with patients face to face. Receptionist is not very friendly. Will not go there again. Pretty much they take your money but then won't help with questions later. Don't go there.
