Love my new doc!
I’m new to Savannah and was bracing myself to find a good rheumatologist after years of trial and error. I just had my fist visit with Dr. Degenhardt and walked away with a big smile. I found him extremely knowledgeable and well versed and he took the time and care to really understand my medical history and explain certain diagnosis and treatments in a way that resonated with me. He also explained a new panel of tests that can help drill down autoimmune markers even further, something I hadn’t been aware of until now, all at minimal out of pocket expense. He’s also helping to refer me to other specialists to give me comprehensive care. I definitely feel like I’m in great hands…very pleased with my new doc!

Dr. Degenhardt was my doctor when he was in Myrtle Beach, and I was well satisfied with his treatment of my rheumatoid arthritis, and he was a caring individual. I hated to see him move his practice.

Your appointment may run a little late, but that's because Dr. Degenhardt takes his time with patients; well worth it! I've had friendly and considerate treatment from him since my first visit two years ago, and he's helped me with a couple of personal issues too. I recommend him highly.

I love Dr. Degenhardt, but his new hired staff and location has made it extreamly inefficient. Today, I drove 1 - 1/2 hour to see him and I was told I had to reschedule because I did not know their address had changed, therefore, I spent 25 minutes asking everyone on the floor where they were. The office has new employees and are very inconsiderate and inefficient. They claimed they sent me a text to confirm my appointment and the address was listed. Nothing said they had moved. Broke shoulder

Have had many Rheumatologists unable to diagnose me and Dr Degenhardt was fantastic. Picked up on a rare genetic disorder that 30+specialists had failed to notice and appropriately referred me to Mayo. I enjoy seeing him and his staff have been great.

Dr. Degenhardt is awesome and I would recommend him to everyone HOWEVER his office staff is something else. Unfortunately your staff can ruin your practice and that is the direction it is headed. As a professional myself I have NEVER encountered an office which DOES NOT RETURN PATIENT CALLS! I tried for almost 3 months and even sent a fax with no response. The only reason I finally got one is because another doctor called for me. This is not acceptable. The person who called me was very rude.

Love Dr Degenhardt. It took awhile to figure out what was wrong but once he did he started me on the right medication and I feel so much better. MA rude on the phone multiple times. Hard to get through to staff on the phone. Poor staff quality which is a shame because he is a great Doctor. My travel time is 1hr 45 min one way. Arrived for my appointment one time and the receptionist said my appointment was the next day. Got back home looked at my card an indeed i had arrived correctly. Bad staff

I've been going to Dr. Degenhardt for a couple of years now. He made my initial diagnosis and helped me find the medications that work best for me. I have never had a doctor that is so attentive and thorough. He takes his time explaining any and all questions. I definitely refer anyone I know with rheumatological problems to him.

Dr. Degenhardt has been very attentive to my needs, he listens to my concerns, takes seriously my complaints, and understands I cannot afford to be "disabled". He has made every effort to treat my pain and discomfort in a way that I can still function in day-to-day activities and life. I appreciate the time and effort that has been spent on my behalf by him and his caring staff.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Degenhardt?
I was initially very pleased. I've only seen him 3 times. But, this last time was my last time to this office. The EIGHT MINUTES he was in the room, it was painfully clear that my rheumatology diseases were the last things on his mind. And an "open your mouth and say ahh", rotating my right wrist, and the quick breathe in and out, and "well. You look okay " Are you kidding me??? And I'm not even going to get started on the office!

In the beginning he was caring and understanding. As time went on and my RA worsened, so did his level of care! His staff was terrible. Trying to get the nurse to do a prior auth for meds was a joke! After 3yrs his office no longer accepted my ins. I offered to be self pay but was told by his staff he refused to see me anymore. Couldn't even tell me to my face!

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Degenhardt?
Initially, Dr. Degenhardt takes time and listens to what the overall health concerns are. Soon you find he combines treatment time and office visits together when he can. You will be charged an office visit for a brief "blood work looks good." Dr. Degenhardt does not return calls and does not respond well to patient concerns about prescribed medications. I found him to be dishonest in dealing with me as a patient.
