Dr. Chad Smalley, MD

I am a 66 yo retired Firefighter that has had plenty of orthopedic injuries throughout my career. I felt as if I was relegated to live a life of chronic pain post retirement. A visit to Dr Smalley to treat my shoulders and knees for chronic pain had me back to my old life of activity and fitness in short order. Thank you Dr Smalley for helping me get back to the life I dreamed of in retirement!

Maybe shorter time in between visits.

Dr. Smalley reviewed the MRI for my shoulder and was very detailed in explaining my issues and going over a plan of action which includes surgery and rehab. I know others that have had successful shoulder surgery with Dr. Smalley so I look forward to the surgery and getting rid of the pain.

Dr Smalley is very skilled and knowledgeable. He takes time to answer your questions and concerns. He understands how you feel and what you must feel with your pain as per knowing how the body works and reacts to the types of injures and treatment needed to help you. I just love him . He is a great surgeon I had 2 surgeries with him previously, this visit I got injections. I went from barely sleeping from join pair to getting the injections and I got to sleep last night, went to sleep comfortably and slept all night . I trust him so much and if anyone needs a shoulder surgery he is your man . I got knee injections this time but will see the knee replacement team soon. Trust me on this for the last 8 years I have been scared to death of joint injections. Not any more ..yall this man is wonderful..Exemplary care . A treatment plan for the present and one down the road if needed

Dr Smalley showed me my shoulder x-ray and pointed out the arthritis, bone spur and lack of spacing in that joint. He listened very closely to what I had to say and answered all my questions. I have a nickel allergy and he reassured me saying they have an all-titanium prosthesis they can use to replace my shoulder joint. I am planning on proceeding with this in the future. He also gave me a cortisone injection in my shoulder and I almost couldn’t feel anything. I was really dreading getting that but am no longer afraid of a shoulder injection as long as he is doing it! I highly recommend Dr Smalley and his staff!!

I am completely satisfied with the outstanding work Dr. Chad Smalley performed on my left shoulder. Before having it operated on, my shoulder had dislocated so many times over a thirty-year span that it had developed an unusual condition.Dr. Smalley took the time to examine my shoulder carefully. After studying x-rays and an MRI, he explained to me what the condition was and what he would do to repair it. Prior to the operation, I did some research and asked many questions. Dr. Smalley was always friendly and listened carefully as I explained my symptoms. After surgery he explained exactly how he removed the bone spur and made necessary repairs.

My husband had cortisone injection in knee. He hardly felt it. He was very knowledgeable and educated us on the different option that are available.
