Dr. Cezar Iliescu, MD

I can't say enough good things about how Dr. Iliescu has helped me through a very difficult and rare cancer-related situation. Our first appointment was over an hour! He laid out a plan for what I needed to do, who I needed to talk to, and where I should go to get the care I needed. He doesn't do surgery himself, but made sure I understood exactly what was going on, where I had wiggle-room and where I didn't, and what they knew and what they didn't about what I was facing. I'm doing great now and have him in large part to thank for that.

Our family was very impressed. My spouse is 80 years old. He has carcinoid syndrome and was invited to a clinical trial. We met with Dr. Iliescu mid trial, and Dr. was extremely patient, caring, dedicated, compassionate and over the top helpful. We are very grateful for the wonderful M.D. He truly cares about his patients. Thank you so very much.

I had a very poor experience with this doctor. I was prescribed heart medication by my cardiologist and was developing severe stomach pain shortly after taking it. This occurred during the weekend, so I called the after hours number to reach an on call cardiologist, who unfortunately, was Dr. Cezar Iliescu. I asked if he could switch me back to a previous medication that didn't give me stomach pain until I meet with my cardiologist. He rushed me over the phone, said he would order it and hung up. To my surprise, he didn't follow through and I had to call a second time to follow-up. After doing so, he called me and got defensive, saying that he just now put the order in, but that I don't really have a heart condition but just arrhythmia, and that I shouldn't be so desperate for medication. When I explained how it can be dangerous for me to stop taking heart medication, he said that wasn't true. It was evident to me that his ego was more important to him than caring for the patient.
