Compassionate Woman but Mediocre Doctor
Dr Sarkissian is kind and compassionate, to give her some credit...but her medical, and clinical skills are at best mediocre, and provides little to no help in finding specialists

Not recommended
Dr. Sarkissian has terrible bedside manner. She was dismissive of my concerns and did not answer all of my questions. When I explained that I was struggling with my mental health, she went on a 10 minute rant about how "I am young, pretty, and new in town so I have no reason to be depressed." She went on and on about how I have no reason to struggle with mental health and I was just mistaking my depression and anxiety for a bad mood or period mood swings. She refused to give me a referral to behavioral health until I started crying. Do not recommend.

Horrible! Look elsewhere for decent healthcare
Doctor was late, wasn't prepared for my visit, didn't read my chart, got me confused with other patients, was defensive and inattentive, messed up my medication and didn't address two of my four issues. This has been going on for far too long now--time for a new doctor. The incompetence and bedside manner are both unacceptable.

When I arrived with a specific health complaint, she seemed attentive to diagnostics and was careful to do an accurate rule-out. The nurses on her team at BWH in JP have been nothing but amazing and responsive. However, Dr. Sarkissian's bedside manner is incredibly poor, and oddly she claimed to have expertise in mental health while also arguing with me about my own self-reports about MH issues. She told me I had "nothing to be sad about" (thanks I'm cured!) and that I would die of old age after a life spent complaining of ill health like a famous Brazilian poet. This lecture took her so long that she then blamed me for making her late to see her next patient, and left abruptly with me in tears in the exam room, an encounter she described in her after-visit note as "lots of Suppport, encouragement and conselling given". Her speaking voice is also so loud, I could overhear her clearly in the next exam room (closed rooms, not curtain-divided) discussing sensitive health information.

I went in for a first time appt with her in the past after having made her my PCP. She came in and was very rigid and sans a personality. At one point the subject of my feelings towards being pro-choice, but not necessarily for myself came up and she responded in the rudest, most insulting way. You are my physician, not someone in my social circle. Understand that your job is to not have a vocal opinion on my life unless it affects my health. Lesson number one. Needless to say, I never returned.
