Dr. Mierisch was kind and communicated very well. He explained the range of options and his recommendations. He updated my x-rays during the office visit, which was really convenient. I haven't had a procedure yet, but he seems highly competent and professional. I would recommend him.

Compasionate and Competent, the Real Deal!
I have had three opportunities to deal with Dr. Mierisch and his team and my experiences have been great. They were able to get me into their busy schedule for timely treatment to evaluate two broken wrists, a Carpal Tunnel release procedure, and surgery to apply a plate for a broken ulna. In each case he clearly explained the issues and possible treatments. His approaches have addressed my problems and minimized my pain.

Dr. Mierisch is an amazing surgeon. I had a significant injury to three fingers from a table saw. Not only was he able to save my fingers, but I'm already back to unrestricted activity less than 3 months after the accident. The whole team at Carilion was outstanding.

He did a wonderful job putting a plate and screws in my broken wrist for a Smith's Fracture. I would recommend him highly and I would not go to anyone else. He explained the procedure so well before my surgery and had me completely at ease before I went under. - Jacky Clark Dec. 19.

Repair severed ulnar nerve in elbow and nerve transfer in wrist. Great job, wouldn't go nowhere else for further orthopedic needs.

Dr. Mierisch did a total shoulder replacement on my husband. He was very impressive when we met with him before the surgery and the surgery went very well. Husband is recovering nicely. The only complaint we have is that we never saw Dr. Mierisch after the surgery and have not seen him on any follow up appointments. We hoped he would stop by while husband was in the hospital but he never did.

I was in bad car accident, with the worst of my injures being a severed middle finger. I was luck enough to have Dr. Cay Mierisch working in the emergency room that night because without his expertise I don't believe I would have a middle finger today. He also preformed my shoulder surgery after another well known shoulder doctor in the valley botched my first surgery. Like I tell as many people as I can, I would travel back across the world if I ever needed a major surgery to see Dr. Mierisch.

Getting an appointment with Dr. Mierisch is nearly impossible. After an MRI, they tell me the soonest I can get a follow-up appointment is 8 weeks. The first two appointments were equally as bad.

Dr. Mierisch has replaced both of my shoulders in the last 3 years. I would not go to anyone else for this type of surgery. I have recommended him to all who have asked where I received my surgery and there have been some who did have him perform surgery on them and are doing very well, as am I.
