I went in for birth control for acne and specifically said so and she prescribed me a type(Levora) that is apparently known for causing more acne due to its higher androgenic effects. She stressed that I needed to take it for 3 months minimum BEFORE contacting her office to switch/stop. Those 3 months that I trusted her caused me horrendously disgusting cystic acne that covered 60% of my face that took me 2+ years to recover!!! For something so basic in family medicine she should have listened closely and had a much less dismissive bedside manner. Her staff was friendly and organized but Dr. Tong was unprofessional and lacking in research/knowledge. Even a simple google search would have shown which birth controls for acne...
