Dr. Catherine T Benitez, MD

Dr. Benitez was my doctor for many years. At the time that I visited her, I was experiencing suicidal ideation and depression. When I confided in her about it to seek help, she let me know that having those feelings and thoughts was selfish and that it was not fair of me to have those feelings when there are kids that she treats that have cancer and want to live. She also scolded me and judged me for having premarital sex. She said, “Why are you having sex with people that you are not planning to marry?” Based on my experiences, I can not recommend her. I hope that since the time I visited her as a patient, she has gained some skills in empathy, active listening, and has had an overall improvement in her bedside manner.

I absolutely love Doctor Benitez!! My almost 3 year old began with her at birth. I transferred my oldest child to her as well. She is more then attentive and caring. Even in appointments for my daughter she is asking for follow ups about my other older son.. Her bedside manner is through the roof. A year ago my daughter had a crazy health scare and no one would listen to me. Not the ER or other pediatricians in the office. Once Dr. Benitez returned, I called and demanded we see her. She made room in her schedule and immediately knew there was an issue from just laying eyes on my daughter. She called the ER and demanded certain tests be done and that my daughter not be released until they found out what was going on. She advocated for my child and heard me out when no one else would. After multiple nights in the hospital we did learn of the diagnosis my daughter had. I am willing to travel almost anywhere for her to be my children's pediatrician!! She is amazing and truly cares.

Dr. Benitez has been amazing with my four year old since birth. She always takes time to get to know my child personally (not THROUGH me) and explains everything she's doing.
