Re. Dr Catherine Ellis Atlantic Orthopedics and Sports MedicinePaid upfront close to $900 out of pocket for a procedure not covered by my insurance. She told me at the time of setting the first appointment for the procedure - and at least one time thereafter in a way that appeared to me to be unambiguous - that this near $900 would be the only fee for up to 3 of these procedures, if given within a 6 month period. Next up, after a 3 month interval she offered to do another of these procedures but with an additional fee of $200. This $200 appeared to be reduced from a much higher number when I reminded her of what I took to be our original agreement. Even lowered, I summarily refused this offer since it seemed to be a clear breach of that original agreement.If in fact there was a misunderstanding involved, that misunderstanding was caused by her not making it absolutely explicit at any point that there would be additional charges involved for any further procedures of this kind.
