Does not listen/ Poor bedside manner
Telehealth
Dr. Chao seems intelligent but lacks bedside manner. She is very abrupt, interrupts, and isn’t patient. She is in a rush whenever you get the chance to speak. Her GI treatment methods must be successful for some, however, when I brought up a specific concern and some follow up questions about her care plan she was rude and put me in the defensive in order to advocate for my child. Patient care is not a simplified one-size fits all treatment plan you can implement on every patient. Not every child will respond the same to medications and asking for clarification is allowed and should be encouraged. The hardest part of our interaction was that she is not an open communicator and her listening skills could be improved. It’s very important to be able to rely on speciality physicians as their knowledge is more vast due to their extended training. Her knowledge is not worth her attitude and we will seek help elsewhere. It was disappointing to receive this low quality of care.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Chao?
Dr Chao REFUSED to put my 2 year old son’s GI tube back in after his endoscopy, insisting that mom learn how. This was after it being requested by parents AND the nursing staff. She is arrogant and dismissive. I do not trust that she actually LISTENS to patients or their parents.
