Left me hanging
Dr. Carratero closed her practice with no notice. I now have a new Dermatologist to help with my skin cancer but I have been trying to get my records for over 45 days. Very disappointed.

Great preventative care
I see Dr. Carretero annually to make sure the CO sun isn't giving me skin cancer. She is very thorough, knowledgeable, prompt and kind. Highly recommend Dr. Carretero and Lower Highlands Derm to help protect your skin!

I was pleased with Dr. Carretero's care. The appointment was on time, she is knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner. The staff helped me navigate a prescription insurance issue and saved me a lot of money.

I have been coming to Dr. Carretero for years now for skin checks, mole removal, dysport and other injectables. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always puts me at ease. I always leave looking very natural, no completely frozen faces here! The rest of the staff is friendly and very competent as well, love Maggie for hair removal. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

I have been seen twice now for two issues, both times I was seen, the practice spent less than 10 minutes with me. The first time the medication prescribed did not work at all, which I understand can be the case. But another $50 later I have to come again for the same issue and be seen for another 5-minute consultation. They treat their patients just like a paycheck. I called again because I wanted to move forward with one of the medications that Dr. Carretero had mentioned when I saw her in the second consultation and could not remember the name of it. I wanted to see if she could prescribe it since we had already spoken about it, I was told no, I needed to come in for another (5-minute meeting) visit and spend yet another $50 even though we had already talked about it. I was told my primary care doctor could also prescribe it so to go through them if I didn't want to pay again. Upon asking for the name so I could give it to my doctor I was told by the receptionist Veronica that they

My experience with the Nurse Practitioner at this location was a good one and so this is not about the course of treatment I recieved. This is about an issue that arose from a miscommunication by the office about my prescriptions. I addressed the issue with the office manager and did not recieve anything close to what would be considered good customer/patient service. For this reason I would not recommend anyone use this office because office managers play a pivotal role with any issues that may arise with the office, especially financial ones.

Had a very poor experience. Called the doctor’s nurse with questions about my new medication (I taking least that two weeks ago when I saw Doctor Carretero). Receptionist stated nurse was too busy to speak to me or even call me back. The nurse don’t call back because is to busy ! Receptionist asked what my problem was, then proceeded to give me medical advice. Wow.

Very professional and nice! Diagnosis was serious, minor surgery in-office to deal with it was excellent.

I would not recommend Dr. Carretero. I am afraid she does not appropriately treat her patients and neglects patients prescriptions and treatment plan timelines. She mistakenly put me on an antibiotic for a year when it was only supposed to be a 6 month treatment. No one followed up about this and I took the prescription for the year long time. Extreme digestive issued resulted. Front desk staff is also extremely rude and seems to be too busy to help anyone ever.

Terrible front office staff. Rude and unhelpful. Never even got to see the doctor because the staff booked my appointment incorrectly and they could not fit me in (even though texts and emails from them confirmed the date and time that I arrived for the appointment.).

I've seen both Dr. Carretero and the nurse/aesthetician - Maggie. I came in for one issue and Dr. Carretero proactively pointed out an irregular skin mark I hadn't noticed. And Maggie did a great job of treating my skin - it looks fantastic. I got carded when I went out tonight!

The office staff doesn't know what they are doing. WORST customer service I have ever had in a professional office. Purchased a package treatment and the final treatment could not be done. I waited for over 40 minutes past my appointment time to be told this and not offered any compensation for the hassle of driving there, waiting over 40 minutes past my original appointment time and not being able to get my final micodermabrasion appointment honored because of training issues, staff issues.

I will NOT be back. My visit lasted maybe 5 minutes. When I was waiting in the room, I overheard Dr. Carretero talking to the student that she does not have much time today (there is a big gap at the top of the room, close to the ceiling, it's a charming but old building). She said I would have to make another appointment for her to check my body for any moles etc. So disappointing even more so since my visit was so short! She is only pushing the products she sells in her office.

The first time I went to Dr. Carretero 2 years ago, she was thorough and great however when I saw her this year my experience was anything but. I've had Melanoma 3 times and over 15 excisions for all levels of atypia and I was feeling uneasy about a new one and she wouldn't come out to see me because my student health insurance wasn't going to kick in for another week and wanted me to pay the base rate of $250. Then when I finally came back in she was dismissive and cold.

I would NOT recommend this Dr. or office. My daughter went to her for an acne problem. She prescribed a medication that is no longer being produced and our insurance will not pay for the generic version. We made many calls to the office over a 2 week period and never received calls back. When we did finally get a call back, the person was rude and got angry when we couldn't come in on the day she wanted. (It was the first day of school). Very unprofessional.

Not a good experience at all. I went there because I had acne issues and a situation with my scalp. I went in there very worried trying to get help to find a solution. She came in, I told her about my problem, she didn't even took a look at my face, told me that it looked fine to her, recommend Neutrogena face wash, saw my scalp, said I didn't have anything, left. SERIOUSLY?! literally 5 minutes. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
