She was very professional and thorough. My exam was right on time. I was in and out in 15 minutes- which I really appreciated.

Dr. Azar is one of the best in her field. She will tell you like it is, aka the truth. Not all Oncology Doctors have the heart to tell you the truth, but being I need to get my life in order, I needed that. She will be there for you!

Terrible Bedside Manner
Our 84 yo mom went into the hospital with shortness of breath. She had been in remission from stage 1 breast and lung cancer 8 years ago. A 13cm mass was detected and she asked us what we wanted to do, rhetorically, as if we ever were in this position before. When she told mom that she was terminal, she said, "This cancer is untreatable and you're no spring chicken." That was how my mom heard she was not going to make it through this diagnosis. We were shocked at the coarseness and when we asked questions to try and understand what was happening, we got a lot of sighing and somewhat sarcastic responses that weren't really answers. We knew the diagnosis was bad, we'd never been in this position before and wanted to know our options before making the decision to go into hospice care. She did hand us off to an excellent hospice organization. Thank god for them, as we were left very put off by this experience. I would not recommend working with her in the future.

Rude-plain and simple
I understand that other patients think her behavior is okay because they say she is a "straight shooter". Doctors in the area all say the same thing about her--she's from New York. That doesn't excuse the behavior. She apparently doesn't know what empathy is and she will never admit that she is wrong. If she feels threatened by your questions, she will make some kind of condescending remark to make you feel small.

Rude from the get-go
I truly wanted to like her. I was moved to her patient load when my original oncologist left the practice. So I had hopes that she'd be a good fit. I was terribly wrong! At my first visit, she walked in and right by me, never made eye contact, and said, "What are you doing here? Don't you know we specialize in breast cancer?" I was so taken aback that I didn't even know how to respond. She went on, "That's not to say I haven't treated ovarian cancer before. I've treated a lot of ovarian cancer cases." She kept looking at her laptop and not looking at me. Our 2nd visit was even worse, with the end result being my choosing to only see her PA, and then eventually transferring my care to a gynecological oncologist instead.

Not what you want to hear!
Receiving the news that you have breast cancer is the news you never want to hear. But you move on with life. Then you have an appointment with the most honest doctor you could possibly get, a god send! While some might find her abrupt, she knows her stuff and really does care about treating you. And, good sense of humor when needed. Thank you Dr. Azar!

She abruptly came into the room. No greeting. Started barking questions. Rough breast exam. Took three long personal phone calls during my appointment. Seemed disinterested. My husband was so mad he refused to go to follow up appointment. Looks good on paper. Came across as rude and uncaring. I changed doctors.

Dr. Azar has been my Oncologist since 2016. At 56, I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer, and am now living life to its fullest. I even went back to college to become a Vet Assistant to enhance my volunteer work at an animal shelter. God bless Dr Azar for her wisdom and kind bedside manner.

i just received c. azars summary of my follow-up visit and had to check the name on the envelope, to make sure that the summary was of MY VISIT. Not once would this doctor answer my questions regarding specific details of my blood test. she actually got annoyed that I would ask her "...what are the four markers for which I had been tested??" her body language was undeniably hostile as she refused to answer and instead told me that my cancer in 2018 was not a RECURRENCE of my breast cancer in 1995; but, instead it was a NEW CANCER IN THE SAME EXACT SPOT...HUH!!!! AT that point i went to leave and she further obfuscated the purpose of my visit with an irresponsible and unrequited discussion on POLITICS!!!! the rest of visit that she calls an examination and consultation, for insurance purposes, is a FAIRY TALE....AS a prerequisite for SURVIVING CANCER, you must stay away from doctors like this.

‘Put that pen down and look at me!’ ‘This is your husband I’m talking about!’ I had already heard earlier from the neurologist (kindly) that my beloved husband had a brain bleed, untreatable d/t AML. Why she needed to scold me angrily, and treat me with such disdain because I wanted to jot a few notes is beyond me. ( all this in my husband’s presence.) There is a huge difference between ‘telling it like it is’ (her forte) and being cruel.

She saved my life. Stage IIIB triple negative breast cancer. she got me in to a clinical trial that worked well. 14 years later I am still here. She is a straight shooter, which I so appreciate. Does not sugar coat anything.

Dr. Azar may be a good Dr., but she treats her staff with unbelievable rudeness. She could use a refresher course in manners, just because you are a Dr. does not give you the right to treat others like she does. Her attitude towards me, as a new patient, has made me want to have no further dealings with her. Life is too short and these health problems too serious to allow anyone to talk or treat with her abusive attitude.

She has treated me for post operative renal cancer, stage 3, and I have had no further concerns. The staff is always professional. The place is clean, blood tests are on site. AZAR is very direct, she will tell you exactly what she is thinking, and she did adjust her estimation of my situation. She likes dogs.
