I was seen for an ankle fracture that I treated like a sprain for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I contacted my PCP through MyLeagacy and she ordered an Xray and the fracture was seen. My PCP made a referral to the Ankle and Foot Clinic and I was seen by Dr. Tomczak the next day.

Total Ankle Replacement Surgery
Total Ankle Replacement surgery. I consulted with Dr. Tomczak in November of 2021 and options were discussed. My ankle was suffering from Post Traumatic Arthritis and I had lost almost all mobility in the ankle joint. It was getting too painful to even walk on. I chose the option of Total Ankle Replacement. There were a couple of months of no weight bearing and then a month of walking in a boot. But after the three months I am totally pain free in the ankle and have almost as much mobility in the ankle joint as my original birth ankle had! It is amazing to think how much this Total Ankle Arthroplasty surgery has changed things. I was to the point were I was almost unable to walk at all and now I can walk for miles with no pain in the ankle. Just got back from a trip to Hawaii and went walking on the beach and around the city for numerous miles every day. It's Great. Thank you Dr. Tomczak and your surgery team. I will be forever grateful. Steve Musch

Dr Tomczak was on call for the Legacy Foot and Ankle practice today. I messaged my doctor at 11a. He was off today. This would have never happened if my doctor in this practice was available. My dr’s ma called me at 1p to say she would call me by 2p with a recommendation for my bleeding 7 day post op amputation situation. The ma called me at 5p to say that Dr Tomczak told her to tell me to go to the ER if I needed care. She refused to speak with me or do a virtual visit to determine whether I had to risk a COVID exposure in an ER. I felt totally abandoned./

I was diagnosed with Osteomyelitis (a bone infection) that destroyed 3 inches inside my Tibia and ankle. After 7 months of "FPN's and 1 Podiatrist" who sent me to a PT in Newport who strongly recommended and MRI to the Podiatrist in McMinnville, I was sent to Dr. Schroeder, specialist in sports injuries in Portland. He did a bone biopsy. Confirmed Osteomyelitis. Sent me to Legacy Hospital. I was assigned as a patient to Dr. Cassandra Tomczak, and I thank the Lord every day.

I have had a condition known as splay foot. I developed blisters on toes 3 and 4 on both feet worsening over the years as my toes continued to curl under. I would use Glide on my feet/toes just to get through the day. Finally I was reduced to wear flip flops. My search for a physician before seeing Dr. Tomczak was 10 years. In my first visit she said, "We can fix this". I had surgery on my right foot in July. I will have surgery on my left in December. I highly recommend Dr. Tomczak.

Dr. Tomczak is very personable and she puts her patients at ease. She is quite thorough and really sensed my anxiousness. She put me at ease. I will need surgery on my other foot once this foot is completely healed. I will be doing that surgery with Dr. Tomczak. I recommend her very high in all categories.
