Not able to reach in an EMERGENCY
After Dr. Dauw did my surgery to remove a 7MM Kidney stone and a week later he had another Urologist remove the stent. Less than 4 days later I started urinating BLOOD BAD. Dr. Dauw was not able to be reached Nor was any of his assoc. to handle his patients. Due to his being on leave. NOBODY said he was on leave. I had to be admitted into an out of town hospital. Have large quantities of blood flushed out of my bladder. And rely on the on call Urologist within the hospital to figure out where the bleeding was coming from. Im on blood thinners. And FINALLY Dr. Dauw called an left me a voice mail and admitted to NOT ANSWERING HIS PAGES when we needed him! We're done with him. Finding another trustworthy Urologist! Even the hospital I was admitted into said they could not reach him the 2 days I was in hospital. FINALLY the day I was discharged is when he CALLED me. A bit too late!

Horrible
A few days prior to seeing dr. Dauw, I was at an urgent care with a huge lump and they prescribed be antibiotics, but said see a doctor if it balloons bigger. I made an appointment with him and he canceled my appointment without even so much as speaking with me and scheduled someone else because of the urgent care’s incorrect notes. I don’t care if I want to see a urologist to get my head checked. It’s my appointment and I deserved to be seen. His nurse practitioner agreed to take a look and lo and behold it was a urologist issue. Imagine that. I raised a big stink with Michigan medicine but never got as much as an apology from him.

HORRIBLE DOCTOR
Dr. Dauw removed my mom's kidney stone in her left kidney but said the stone in the right kidney could not be removed. Found a fabulous, caring doctor through Michigan Institute of Urology who removed the stone in the right kidney.

I had a consult with Dr Dauw to see if I was a candidate for a procedure known as HOLEP to relieve severe urinary retention and bladder distension. I had been on catheters every 4 hours around the clock for almost a year. He looked my medical record over that had been transferred to him from Kalamazoo and said I was good a candidate. The procedure involved one overnight in Chelsea hospital. I was released 24 hours after procedure and have not catheterized once since with a flow like I was 30 again. I have had no reason to take any pain medication. You won't see a lot of him. All competent business and on point. Dr Dauw just gave me my life back, that's all.
