She terminated me as a patient
She terminated me as a patient of many years. Sent a letter which was very impersonal and cold. It seemed the exact opposite of her personality. Very unprofessional.

Excellent doctor. The best I've ever had.
I have been going to Dr. Prochnau since I moved to Asheboro 14 years ago (in 2009.) She is exceptionally friendly, patient, and kind. She gives you as much time as you need, unlike other doctors. This does make for longer waiting times, but I think it's well worth it. I remember the blond lady at the front desk who was rather rude. She is long gone. Everyone in the practice now is welcoming and nice. I have never had a problem with follow up on lab results or anything else. If something falls through the cracks, call them and follow up yourself. Nothing is perfect.

I've been a patient of Dr. Prochnau for nearly 10 years, and I was impressed when I first started visiting her. However, I must say that the practice is not the same as it once was. My biggest issue: they do not follow-up on issues addressed during your visit. In my case, I needed a referral to a specialist (for a pretty serious issue), and I never heard a word about the referral. No follow-up. This isn't the first time a referral fell through the cracks either. Also, they are very bad about calling or posting lab results to the portal. Recently I had some concerning lab results, but it was well over a month before I was contacted.

I’ve had a few of the local Dr.s in the area and immediately after my first visit I found a Doctor who cares about me and my health rather then prescribe a pill and be on my way. Takes all the time needed to thoroughly listen to your concerns with no pressure to speed through my visit, yes you have to wait to be seen but I understand why and I wouldn’t want it any other way. She works with you to find out what’s ailing you and then prescribes the best treatment for your condition. I feel as if she is stays current and knowledgeable with all health related issues and continues to follow up with you on new treatments that may come available. I feel lucky I found a Dr. that cares about your health and puts you first.

I have read the reviews above. As for the lady at the front window, she takes her job serious. One slip could be devastating and/or life threatening so I can deal with that. I, myself have never found anyone there to be anything other than polite and nice. As for the reason you’re there in the first place is to see Dr Prochnau and she is the nicest person. She will take time to listen to you and takes time to explain things to you as well. She lets you be a part of decisions and treatments. Never pushy. I’m a very well pleased patient of hers and feel the staff is great!

Dr. Porchnau has always been so nice when treating my mother. I always dread dealing with the woman who works the office window. She can be rude to patients and family, and shouts out personal information so that anyone in the waiting room could easily hear. Why is she still employed?

This practice often does not answer their phone and doesn't always call you back. It took nearly two weeks for them to call me back about a test I had done when I see the results were faxed to them the same day. One blond lady in the front office is never nice.
