Caring and knowledgable...Best internal medicine physician I have ever had.

Needs to be more accepting!
My visit with Dr. Chitu was fine until she shamed me for not breastfeeding my son. She needs to learn to be more accepting of parents’ choices.

Cold, Impatient, Rushed and Rude
I was a patient of Dr. Chitu. She always rushed and seemed to be timing herself to get in and out as quickly as possible. She often interrupted answers to questions she asked. She speaks very quickly is impatient if asked to repeat what she says. She gives as little information as possible and acts annoyed if a patient asks questions. And does not answer messages. NYU Langone is a big factory and the admin side is disorganized. Getting records sent or obtaining test results is a nightmare.

Rude and lacking care and compassion
I was in a difficult and urgent help, health wise. I waited 2 days after my first call, and having no sign from her, I made the second call when the situation was critical. Three hrs passed and she still ignored me. After the third call, she sent a message thru a nurse with an undisputed refusal of any help. Luck of emphaty and rudness is what I encountered being her patient.

Excellent Care
I Saw Dr Chitu after week long dull stomach pains- she sent me to the ER at once- Thankfully, as it was a lot more than a stomach ache. Her follow up was excellent- her physical exams are thorough as well.

One of the best doctors I have met in my role as a patient. She is patient, generous with her time, answers all questions, and is friendly and thorough with her exam. A very knowledgeable doctor who quickly diagnoses issues brought to her attention, and writes comments on the results of blood work, a first from any doctor I have consulted. Yes, she is mighty fine physician!
