Dr. Carl West, MD

Very professional and efficient. His bedside manner is warm and friendly, and he really knew what he was doing. I was diagnosed with IBS and felt 100% better with the right medication. He also really seems to care about his patients and advocates lifestyle changes along with medication. I felt like I could trust him and have recommended him to family and friends.

Both visits were direct and to the point. I received honest news not “ sugar coated”. I was given referrals to further find a solution for additional things needed to get my health on track. Staff followed up with me every time.

I’ve made 3 appointments with Dr West and his office has called to reschedule 2 of the 3 with short notice. This last one was for a colonoscopy. He has had me on a low fiber diet for the week preceding so I’ve been eating unhealthy white foods for nothing. Also, since I was going to require a driver, my husband took the day off, also for nothing.

i saw Dr. west in the Yucca valley office and I just want to say that he is very comforting and very thorough.

Everyone, from the 1st call w/ Lily and meeting with Rosie was a wonderful experience. Office is beautifully maintained and other staff were gracious and smiling. Would and will be recommending this office to my older friends.

Clearly, most of these positive reviews are fake. 5 of the "5 star" reviews are from some town in Texas. Initially, the office was welcoming . . . Dr. West's assistant was friendly, informative and professional . . . and then I was passed on to the procedure scheduler and everything went downhill fast . . . never returned my phone calls regarding setting up an actual procedure appointment. I then started to call to schedule the procedure with anyone on staff. I was eventually transferred to the person who wasn't returning my phone calls. I scheduled an appointment 5 weeks forward. 2 days before procedure the scheduler called to advise me that they needed the doctor's signature on my medical insurance paperwork. I was advised I would be called as soon as the paperwork was processed. They had 5 weeks. Still waiting for a call . . . been 2 weeks now . . . left several messages . . . with several people . . . none returned.

No return calls. Cancelled my colonoscopy 2 times, the last one after I started the laxative. This has been going on for 3 months. More to the story but would take up too much of this posting. Damn, I am angry. I would call someone in the DR office if I could get through!! I wish there was a NO star rating!!

A year ago I would have had a better review to leave for Dr West, but over the past 3 months I have called the office 4 times—I have left detailed voice mails, explaining I am in distress and I am extremely worried that something more serious might be going on. I have not been able to reach a live person, have left voice mails, contact numbers, requests for appointments. I have wondered if something happened to the doctor, whether the office was closed. It has affected me deeply and personally.
