Dr. Ireton may be busy but that's because she is just that attentive, caring, patient (trust me on that one, ??) and professional. That's what makes a great doctor. I've had to wait quite a while to get in as a patient with her and it is so completely worth it.

Less than a star. Dr. Ireton made me feel like dirt when I went to see her for a consultation for EDS. She began our visit with, "What is it you hope to get out of this visit?" and I could tell it was because she thought it was unimportant I was there, not to open dialogue. Of course after that I didn't want to tell her anything at all that I was dealing with. All I wanted to do was get up and leave and I should have. Others have sung her praises but she didn't give me the time of day. Instead of finding a community and support I found rejection. She also did not keep my health information confidential. When she left the practice others got a letter but not me. I took that to mean I was not important.

The are two adjectives describing Dr.Ireton : compassionate and knowledgeable. One without the other makes for a bad doctor but she has both and to a huge extent. She may take extra time with a patient which may put you behind in your appointment but when it gets your turn to see her and ask questions and get good answers you will have thought nothing about waiting at that point but be very thankful. She is very thorough.

Dr. Ireton has been very supportive of my EDS condition and has explained things on a level in which I can understand (not just in medical terms). We travel hours to meet with her and she spends a lot of time working with me, truly listening/offering suggestions. I am thankful to have a supportive doctor.

I don't believe that Dr Ireton is genuinely compassionate about me as a patient. When I talk to her about complications that I am experiencing she rarely looks up from her computer screen. She don't seem to care about what I am going through and it really hurts to feel like your Dr could care less. I am very disappointed and wish I had never changed physicians. I wish I had a Dr who cared more.
