Dr. Camille Folkard, MD

She is very nice and seems to really care. Overall, the office does not feel so well run, and this issue predated her. Taking initiative with follow up is not a strength so far of her or her staff. But the most frustrating thing is trying to reach them. On a good day, I actually got in the cue as caller number 25 on hold. The machine then informed me of my one place in line every 20 seconds so I spent a half hour on hold listening to elevator music and an interruptive voice telling me my number in the cue probably 50 times. But most days, it's even worse. No answer at all and no way to leave a message. I have informed them many times over the past year and always get comments like oh we've been having some issues with our phone line and we will look into it. Other issues have been things like a really rude person in the answering center.

I only met with her once. She prescribed a drug for osteoporosis. It caused extreme pain in my hip after the 6th treatment. I tried to call her office on Central - no one ever answered the phone. I finally discovered that this clinic had a Plano location which I called and told them my issue. I got a call back from an asst. who said that Dr. Folkard said stop taking this drug. That is the last I ever heard from her. Nothing about what I should do next or the tear in my hip or the pain -- absolutely no response or communication.

Dr. Camille is so friendly and attentive! She was able to resolve some of my health issues! I enjoy going to see her!

Dr. Folkard was the kindest endocrinologist I have ever been to. She was able to explain things to me about my thyroid and diabetes that other doctors didn't take the time to do. I've had bad experiences with other endocrinologists that seemed more interested in what their drug reps were selling rather than what their patients wanted. Dr. Folkard is not like that at all. I hope she stays at this location, it is so close to my house!
