Dr. Byron Erstine, DO

My experience with the Sinus Institute has been good. I have seen WESLEY the PA and he has been great. He is great at explaining what is going on and what I should expect. Dr Erstine did my sinus surgery and recovery is going well. Thank you.

Had a bad ear infection and sinus infection. Dr Erstein had me on a nebulizer to treat the sinus infection, but it didn’t help my ear infection. He told me my ears were clear based on a CT scan of my sinuses. Doctor refused to give me an oral antibiotic four times over a two month period to treat the ear infection. After two months I was given an oral antibiotic after asking yet again and the infection cleared up. However I am left with a chronic ringing in my ear as a result. When I questioned his judgement he got defensive and told me he could refer me to another doctor. Two other doctors advised me he was wrong. One doctor told me the CT scan could over look fluid in the ear. Not reliable. The other told me a CT scan is not how you determine an ear infection.

The office rescheduled my appointment 3 times without telling me. I just showed up and they said, no, it’s this day! When they finally said ‘we’ll squeeze you in’ they acted like they were doing me a favor. Waited two hours! Then only say the PA not the doctor, spent 2 minutes with us and left saying just keep an eye on it, nothing right now! Total waste of time! Ridiculous. Office was falling apart, expired products in exam room, toys falling apart, broken chairs, didn’t seem very clean. Not impressed. Never going back

Was recommended by my child's doctor to come here and get his ears checked out. Worst visit ever!!! The nurse didn't even try to take his vidals because he was scared of her and she got annoyed and rudely said, "I'm not going to try to take his vials I'll just put you in a room and the doctor will see him." And not only that my son's name is Rain in japanese so it's spelled Ame and they were making fun of his name in the hall next to the room I was in calling him Amy!! Unprofessional!! Hate them

Great Doctor. Concerned.

Hard to find anything good to say about our experience. The Dr spent about 10 minutes with us and ordered an MRI. Receptionist said 7-10 days for approval, 10 days we called back, they hadn't talked to our insurance yet, there's people ahead of us. Meanwhile my wife had been in the ER twice with worsening conditions. The lack of concern is frightening given we are dealing with a potentially life threatening condition, still no call. Maybe ok if you have a cold, but don't go there if your sick.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. ERSTINE. He treated me for a deviated septum & other related issues & I had great success. He was very professional & would spend as much time with me as was needed to answer all my questions & concerns. I was very sad, indeed, when he made the difficult decision to move to Las Cruces, NM to continue his medical career. Our loss was certainly their gain. I wish him all the best in his new practice. I will miss his staff & his nurse very much, too.
