Not concerned with patient at all
Dr. Goddard seemed more concerned with telling me about how intelligent and knowledgeable he is about procedures I was not going to have and that had nothing to do with my visit than listening to me about my symptoms. Among my other symptoms I was telling him that I was having a very hard time trying to lose weight while actively dieting and exercising and his reply was “well, it’s not like your going to be a model any time soon.” I was pretty shocked and didn’t know how to respond to that so I just kept telling him my other symptoms but the rest of the visit was so uncomfortable for me. I saw him one more time only to get my test results for a gallbladder ultrasound. When he came in the room he sat down and immediately started telling me about how my diet may have to change now that my gallbladder was out. I had to stop him and tell him that I had not had my gallbladder removed and it turned out it was clear of any stones. I refuse to see he again he is absolutely awful.

I came in for an appointment to see Doctor Goddard and left feeling worst then when I entered. I did not feel that Doctor Goddard listened to any of my signs, symptoms and or concerns. He refused to do any lab tests before recommending me to a specialist that I could not get in to see for another month. I finally called and explained my issues to another physician at the practice since I was very concerned to let this go much longer. They directed me to come in. They let me know that they indeed could run tests at the practice in the mean time to rule out certain illnesses before directing them to a specialist. After my lab results returned I was able to be treated with an antibiotic and did not need to be sent to a specialist. I am not one to write reviews, but I was very unhappy with my experience.

I really felt compelled to write a review, and let me tell you, this is not my first inclination. I lost my primary care physician (she moved) in Catskill NY, so I made a choice based on miles from home. Dr Goddard was the perfect match for overseeing my healthcare. My initial visits focused on history and wellcare, as I thought I was in perfect health. It just so happens, I experienced a life threatening condition , all addressed by St Peters Hospital in Albany. After this was addressed, my follow-ups with Dr Goddard were beyond all expectations. He took so much extra time to educate me concerning the proper meds after stents are placed. I know for sure, he has a passion for his work, and went far beyond what I was expecting.

I have to agree with Jo Ann from Earlton! I find the same thing, he doesn't listen to your pain and orders tests that are not associated with the immediate pain your am having. Even when another Dr.,in my case my lady Dr,says they have ruled out on their end what my pain could be, to go to your Primary Dr. When I did, he disputed everything my lady Dr said. I find that he doesn't listen to the patients, he has a one track mind and its his track mind ,not what your concerns are. He has an answer for everything but not what a patient complains about. I feel he Doctors by his way and not the patients concerns. I feel he wants to be a know it all instead of listening to patient concerns. I feel he refuses to have an open mind. I feel he thinks his patients are there to doop him,so in turn he disagrees with every concern you have. So meanwhile,my issues aren't being address which I am concerned that whatever is going on,with him as my Dr,will never be addressed in a timely manner.

Dr. Goddard has allowed my Autistic son to remain in back pain for months. He is not concerned that it is effecting his life and his anxiety levels are increasing. My son has a high pain tolerance and is a poor reporter and may appear “ok” but you can see him constantly adjusting his back and his irritability is increasing and I am afraid we will end up with a psych emergency as we have in the past if something isn’t done soon. I feel my son is discriminated against because he is on Medicaid and Medicare. Dr. Goddard shows no concern for him whatsoever. Pleasant man... uncaring dr. Sad....

Dr Goddard is a most superb family medicine physician / professor of medicine. He helped mold me in to the physician I am today. He not only is a cutting edge family doc, he has worked to instill in the next generation of doctors the old-school character traits of compassion and responsibility. He even helped me land my first job! Due in part to the course he helped set for me, I have been honored to be voted the Best of the Beach/Best of the Town physician in Myrtle Beach for 15 years running.
