Dr. Bruce Mertz, MD

I hate to put a negative review but Dr. Mertz was very impersonal, disinterested and was quick to end our visit. I was new to the area and a first time patient and he said about 15 words during our visit. Never inquired intentionally about what brought me in or discussed my medical history with me and sadly didn’t seem to care. He might be alright for some but if your looking for an intentional doctor that seeks to treat with care/compassion he may not be the one. Rather cold, to the point and that he’d rather not be there.

He’s not horrible.. He’s had some redeeming moments in the time he has been my PCP. He has a very flat personality, and can be blunt without actually processing how he’ll come across to his patients. I am an RN with a lot of medical and health literacy. When I question things at a higher level, he gets irritated, it’s almost as though the extra time to answer my questions is throwing him off his groove and he needs order and consistency. Rigid thinker.

Dr Mertz is a straight shooter. He is always looking out for not just problems that arise, but also; my overall health. His biggest asset is his accessibility. He has always answered, usually via the health portal, all of my questions and concerns promptly. I recommend him highly.

From entering the office, to seeing the dr, to checking out, each person I encounter is personal, professional, knowledgeable, and makes me feel confident in the abilities of this office.

Didn’t have to wait long & office was kept nicely & cleaned. Dr. Mertz was attentive & genuinely caring. He was thorough on feedback as well. Nurse was also nice.

I had a good visit with Dr. Mertz Feb. 5th. He keeps the visit short while at the same time he advises me of the most important things I can currently do for my own optimal health. He will next be expediting the scheduling of my annual mammogram and my needed colonoscopy.

First-time patient, very impressed. Office staff well organized, very informative and surprisingly, very short wait-time. It became quite obvious this is a medical health center that really cares about patient care. I have seen numerous doctors over the years but after my first meeting with Dr. Mertz I know my health care is in great hands.

I had a very pleasant experience as a new patient seeing a new doctor. Dr. Mertz took time with me, listening to me, and explaining each step we are going to do for my care. I didn't feel rushed through at all and felt compassion as well as professionalism from him.

Great first visit to my new Primary Care Provider! Facilities are clean, neat and well-lighted. The "out-front" staff was professional AND friendly. Minimal waiting. Visit with Dr. Mertz was very encouraging. Easy to talk to - a Great listener. I felt totally confident in his recommendations. I hope he doesn't retire soon!!

Dr. Mertz is terrific. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and responds in a way that is both logical and understandable. He lays out the preferred course of action while taking into account my preferences. I wish all doctors were this approachable!

He's cold & rude most of the time. Doesn't spend much time with patients, although has no problem keeping us waiting.
