Great listener
Every visit with Dr Mayer is eye opening. He cares about not only how my health is today but in the future. He listens and addresses all my concerns. With his help I have changed my health for the better. Lisa in the office has fought with my insurance company to keep me on the same medications that they no longer wanted to cover, Great team and would recommend them to anyone.

Dismissed with only 6 days to find a new doctor!!
Going to this doctor has been a nightmare, just to get the help that I need. Then I was medically abandoned. I called the office 11 times in one month last month uncontrollably crying and begging for an appointment or steroids for red/swelling burning Joints and muscles, in extreme pain. I was ignored. when I finally went into my monthly appointment asking for longer-acting pain relief for sleep (while dealing with a broken spine), medical gaslighting took place as I was told he's never heard of pain while sleeping. I explained that extreme pain was waking me up in the middle of the night and it was impossible to fall back asleep. The office also did not submit my RX to insurance for over 30 days so I couldnt get it, and while trying to discuss everything, he called in a RECEPTIONIST in and they began yelling at me, verbally attacking me, accusing me of lying while saying it doesn't make sense, bullying me. Telling him how this made me feel I was abruptly dismissed from the practice!

I want to sincerely thank Dr. Mayer for his dedication to my parent's health over the past 10 plus years. They have recently moved to assisted living. Over those years he has always been there for my folks whether it's an appointment or a random (a lot of these) off-hours call if needed. He has always been there to help and advise. And that meant the world to me and my sisters. I wish they could still continue as his patients. Thank you and your staff. We are forever grateful, Dr. Mayer!

As a new resident in Williamsburg, I asked for a primary care doctor referral from my mother's physical therapist. She immediately suggested Dr. Mayer, and I'm glad she did! He was wonderful with her, as though he was visiting with his own mom. When I became his patient, too, he was very matter-of-fact and a little abrupt. It was for my own good. Since then our rapport is excellent, and I trust his judgment and solutions. He is amazingly accessible and genuinely caring! I highly recommend him!

This Doctor. Where the heck do I begin. My mom was a pain medication addict in an abusive household when I was growing up. This Doctor, after calling him crying from both my sister and myself telling him how she was abusing her medication and putting my sister and I at risk as we were minors at the time. He did not listen and kept over prescribing my mom medication. If you care about your family and their well being, do not see this Doctor. He ruined my chances at a normal life.

I have in fact referred most of my family to him already, but for myself and my daughter he is our only option for healthcare. If and when we need to referred to a specialist I trust his opinion 100% and have NEVER been let down.

He takes the time to listen, and spends the time needed with his patients. That is very important since so many doctors don't really talk to their patients like they should. He's an excellent doctor, and is very available to his patients. Easy to make an appointment, you don't have to wait days to see him.
