Dr. Bruce Guerdan, MD

I was hit by a car while on my bicycle a couple of days ago. I went to the ER after dealing with the police. I wanted to make sure that nothing was broken and that I did not have a concussion etc. I was still shaken by what had happened and was in tears telling the 'doctor' about my pain and my experience and he just looked at me and said 'well I'm not going to be here all night scanning everything. Pick one body part and we will do an Xray .' I said well I guess my hands since the right one was starting to swell and bruise. He continued to say he didn't see swelling and insinuated that I was making it up- the police even told me to get my hand checked because it was swelling at the scene. He didn't become friendly until my husband entered the room. I am in shock that this man is allowed to practice medicine. ZERO bedside manner and ZERO thoroughness. Didn't even check for a concussion. smh

While on vacation in Key West, my wife came down with bronchitis, and so I took her to LKMC. While reviewing her CT scan, Dr. Guerdan observed something (unrelated to bronchitis) that he thought was troubling and he advised air evac to Mt. Sinai in Miami, and then arranged for it. Turns out what he found was valid, and we are extremely indebted to him for his attention, advice and persistence. If we lived in Key West, we'd make him our PCP.

I had to take my wife to the Key West Hospital ER after she fell on the dock at our marina and put a huge gash in her leg. Dr. Guerdan was wonderful. He took great care of my wife, did an amazing job stitching her up and even saw us in the grocery store the next day and came up to ask how her leg was and took a look. Can't say enough great things about Dr. Guerdan.
