Excellent experience
Dr Dewan was calm and reassuring as he explained the procedure to me. He answered my questions or my satisfaction and put me at ease. Procedure went well and I recovered fully. My experience at Woodbridge was smooth. My anesthesiologist, nurses and staff were all amazing as well.

Excellent Doctor with Contradictory Staff
To date Dr Dewan has performed 2 colonoscopies and several endoscopies. I find him to be excellent and knowledgeable, but when he turns me over to his staff I get mixed results. His staff has told me different information than the doctor, tried to put me on special instructions he never gave, failed to schedule a series of labs to help diagnose my condition, and continued to restrict my diet until there was little left to eat. Dr Dewan clarified, but sometimes it is very difficult to get an appointment directly with him. My diagnosis is still unclear and my medication may be changing. I have to wait until my next appointment for my lab results and next steps. I continue see to Dr Dewan because he saved my boyfriend’s life through the most difficult procedure they do. I am trusting the process through my ulcers and stricture in my esophagus that we will get it figured out and fixed despite little success so far.

The Best
Over the years I have had various Colonoscopies and intestinal difficulties. Dr. Dewan is the finest GI specialist I have had the pleasure of being a patient and of occasionally working with as a nurse, now retired. I trust his judgement, expertise, knowledge, and wisdom. I literally would trust him with my life.

Dr Dewan did my colonscopy many years back. It was extremely precise and well written, going into lots of detail. Some of his findings are still relevant many years later. Good recommendations. Competent and well done. Not a party atmosphere but I did not expect that. Excellent professionalism.

Have had 2 colonoscopies with Dr Dewan in the past six years. He is courteous and explains what he will do and goes over the results clearly. Both my husband and I have been very happy with him.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dewan for years. He’s a very good doctor. With a good bedside manner. Doesn’t pull any punches very honest and straight forward. Exactly what you need from your doctor. I would definitely and have referred others to him including my own son.

My fiancé had a colonoscope and an endoscopy. I waited in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hrs. No one came and told me anything. I finally went to the desk and asked the receptionist about her. she was nice and went to check on her. She came back and said she was doing well and talking on her phone. Everyone in the waiting room had someone come and talk to them about their patient, even people that had came in after me. Still no one came and talked to me. Then I got pissed at the Dr. who did the procedures, and got loud about the rudeness of this human being. So what he is a Doctor, DON'T BE RUDE TO YOUR PAICIANTS AND THEIR FAMILY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The office called to reschedule my appointment, they were very apologetic. I thought everything was fine until I checked in, and they told me I had missed the appointment. I spoke with the same woman who rescheduled me and she said she didn't remember.

This Dr. does not even begin to take the time or care about your treatment. He provided me with an elimination diet then never asked if I was doing it or how it was going on my next visit. He prescribed me with meds that interacted poorly with what I was on and acted as if I was lying when I told him. His attitude is smug and of "how could anyone understand their own health when I've been practicing for 40-plus years?" His cannot be bothered with what is actually going on with his patients.

When I was scheduled for my colonoscopy for yesterday, June 20, I found Dr. Dewan's staff very helpful e3specially in notifying me beforehand of the change in sites from Borgess at Woodbridge Hills to Borgess Hospital. They were also very helpful in answering questions about preparation for colonoscopy, directions to the check in desk at Borgess Hospital. Borgess nurses and reception staff assisting with the colonoscopy we3re professional, courteous, compassionate and helpful.

He did an endoscopy on me and didn't give me enough anesthesia and three Nurses held me down while he jammed the scope down my throat further damaging my already paralyzed vocal cord (which he was well aware of). I didn't sue him, but I should have. DO NOT go to this man.
