I underwent an exploratory procedure in the hospital overnight. It did not resolve my pain issues that I originally came in with, but instead compounded them with 3 new incisions in my abdomen. She was not the performing doctor for my procedure but took over at shift change. The first thing she did, before even seeing me, was take away the pain medication I was on and reduce pain management to almost nothing. When my husband and I finally saw her face to face she was very dismissive of how I felt. She laid out options in an almost combative way for the next step in my pregnancy. In her notes she wrote that “patients primary concern is her own pain level”. She also failed to send home nausea medication (which was noted that I need in order to take any pain medication). I am without any pain control for the surgery I had less than 24 hours ago. She made me feel very uncomfortable being treated at all by her. It was like she came in mad already.
