I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Witwer. He took me on as a complex patient after a year of struggling to find care. He collaborated with other surgeons at SCL as well as specialists in other states to make the safest and most effective plan for my rare and complicated conditions. Most importantly though, he collaborated with me. I am just two weeks out so the full course of my recovery remains to be seen but he did a fantastic job and I’d recommend him to anyone.

I waited 2 1/2 weeks for the doctor to LOOK at my test results. I had been in severe pain for 6 weeks prior to my referral. After enduring this kind of pain, I was called to set an appointment. The doctor was too busy and I was to be scheduled to see a PA in 6 weeks time. Shame on you try a little compassion for your fellow man. I have found and scheduled with another Neurosurgeon.

Dr. Witwer left me with more pain and less function than before surgery. Worse; he was very unresponsive to my needs and concerns after surgery, suggesting that my pain and specific function concerns, including suggesting I had something loose and moving in my back, wasn't real. "Everything is perfect on the latest scan" says Witwer when I suggested we have a serious problem now (5 months after surgery). "I don't want to argue with you" he says every time I raised an issue. When I raised the concerns the radiologist raised on the last scan, 5 months after surgery, Witwer said, "He is only the Radiologist, that is his opinion, I am the surgeon." "All I can offer you is pain management" He was very cold and unresponsive to my concerns and pain and lack of function. His last words to me was, "I advise you to get a second opinion," and "Have a wonderful day."

Dr. Witwer performed two spinal surgeries on me. One was a discectomy and fusion of my neck in 2016 and the other a cyst removal and a fusion of my lumbar spine in 2017. I appreciated his honesty, integrity, and expertise and I am 100% confident in his abilities to perform an excellent spinal surgery. I no longer have pain shooting down my arms.

I went with a friend for her consultation with Dr. Witwer. I appreciate his honesty & willingness to say surgery was not a good option for her due to various health complications. His integrity & expertise are greatly appreciated.

Dr. Wither was incredible. He comforted me when I came in from the accident and his whole team treated me like family. He completed surgery on my neck fusing my c5, c6, c7, and t1. He was in surgery for 6 hours and had perfect outcomes. I am happy to be walking from his work today.
