Read first before hip joint replacement by Parsle
Approximately 4 years ago I got my right hip joint by Dr. Parsley (Anterior method). Seven months ago I got my left hip joint replaced by different doctor. Dr. Parsley's method left a deep dip in the side of my hip. The scar is ugly, and the muscle is very week. I have been lifting weights for 40 years, and this muscle is not getting as strong as it was before the surgery. The left hip has a scare that has a little discoloration and is smooth as a babies butt. The muscles were not cut, and they are a strong as before surgery. I can lift, run, squat, anything I want. I do not know why he has not gone back for additional training to learn this procedure. To me it shows how much he care about his patients. I wish I would have done my own research instead of listening to recommendations about Parsley from neighbors an acquaintance. I will have to deal with this the rest of my life. I do not want others to be in the same situation.

Due to my age and the business I owned, I have traveled around the world and seen lots of doctors… Maybe hundreds. Dr. Parsley is without a doubt, the most knowledgeable, proficient and surgically savvy of any physician I’ve ever met! His pleasant demeanor, and sense of humor contribute to the overall medical experience. He is one of a kind. My experience with Dr. Parsley every time I have seen him which have been plenty have been more than remarkable. I will need knee surgery soon and I will have no one other than Dr. Parsley perform that procedure.

I do not recommend Brian Parsley for hip replacement. The communication this doctor provides is terrible. The first visit I had he showed me the new hip device but told me nothing about the six inch scar and deep depression at my hip location he left me with. He told me nothing about what my body would feel weeks, months, or a year later. Even during the follow up visits he told me nothing except what I needed to do during the 6 week recovery period. After six week he told me I could go back to normal activity, and never did he put his hand on my body to see if my hip felt normal. I did notice that at the follow up visit he was looking at my body to see if he could get anymore work. After about 2 months I started getting pain in my knee down to my foot. He has me come in (2.5 hour drive one way), does an x-ray and tells me I need to stretch the membrane that runs down our legs. He could not have told me in the first visit and following visits. Then he wanted to charge me.

Dr. Parsley has replaced both my knees. This last surgery was 5 weeks ago. I'm up and about with little to no pain. Graduated from my physical therapy appointments. Of course, I must continue my at home exercises. Dr. Parsley is an amazing surgeon. He gives his patients that extra time & TLC, other doctors usually don't. His staff are attentive and helpful. I drove large distances after a referral from my dear friend had her knees replaced as well. It has changed my life in the most wonderful way. I have Dr. Parsley to thank for that. Check him out, you WON'T be disappointed. Houston Methodist has an excellent facility and rated very highly!

He replaced my husbands knee and in addition to being one of the best knee doctors in Houston, has one of the most caring, conscientious doctors we have seen in many years. For each return visit over 3 months, he personally, has seen my husband every time and never rushed him through. A close friend who had the same surgery by another doctor right about the same time, had the opposite experience. Her doctor never saw her personally until her outside therapists was concerned she was not progressing as she should and she requested that the doctor, himself, see her. While there are many talented, capable orthopedic doctors in Houston who may care about their patients, I have met very few who demonstrate a genuinely caring manner like Dr Parsley does. And let me add that he has a very good, helpful staff. We feel very blessed to have found Dr. Parsley!

I recommend Dr. Parsley without hesitation. Patients bring risk factors and expect surgeons to perform the surgery and handle all our other health risk factors, too. It isn't about his numbers that he is seriously concerned about our risk factors. If you think about it, no one wants to have to tell a family things didn't go well. Dr. Parsley gives an enormous amount of his time providing medical care to people in need and doesn't ask for anything in return. He does care about his patients. Put yourself in his place. If you were a surgeon wouldn't you be highly concerned about operating on someone with heart disease, or diabetes, or obesity, or all of these? If you want an outstanding surgeon and a caring doctor and person, then go to Dr. Parsley and do what he says. You will be grateful you did. I know I am! My two knee replacements couldn't have been better.

My visit with Dr. Parsley was absolutely horrible. He was worried about me being 30lbs over weight and not about my condition. He sat me up on the exam table but he never laid a hand on me. He never would give me time to answer his questions that he had about my condition. Every time I would speak about what was going on and the prior surgeries he would not even take the time to look at me nor hear what I was saying. I traveled over 4 hours to get to him and it was a total disappointment. His only concern was for the fact that operating on heavier person would cause his numbers to drop if there was any kind of complication. And I work in a hospital and I fully understand the risk of operating on a over weight patient but there is a point that when they are 23 and very active other than sports and the gym because there condition wont allow them to and all you will talk about is how fat they are and they are telling you what needs to be done to help them be active. Just listen to them.

Dr. Parsley performed a right total hip replacement on me. Surgery was four weeks ago and I feel great. I trusted and felt comfortable with Dr. Parsley from the first visit all the way through the surgery and follow-up. He took his time explaining everything to me and I felt comfortable and trusted him to do his part. I knew from the first appointment what to expect and what I needed to do and what he was going to do. Surgery was one day and I went home the next day.

My meniscus failed about 6 years ago. Dr. Parsley scoped it and I got an additional 6 years after the surgery as he had predicted. This year (2017) my knee problem progressed to the point that a replacement was required. Dr. Parsley performed a total knee replacement. The experience from beginning to end was superb. Dr. Parsley, his staff, the hospital facility, and hospital staff were great. Friendly people who cared about you and did everything possible to provide you with a great result

Dr. Parsley did my father's hip replacement surgery and my father and family have never been through such a horrible experience in our entire life. After my father was life delighted to Houston the surgery had to be redone and my father ended up in a nursing home for rehab for 6 weeks. Once my father was out of the hospital we have never heard from the doctor again. We never even saw him after the day of the second surgery. It was a horrible experience and I would never use this doctor.

Dr. Parsley has been monitoring my arthritic hip for over ten years, advising me on conservative and effective ways that I can maximize my comfort level while keeping an active lifestyle. He has been respectful of my non-invasive choice, referring me to physical therapy and physical activities which are not harmful. It is apparent that the time has come to have an artificial hip and I will entrust the surgery to him and to his team. They are attentive and talented folks.

All Dr. Parsley could see was an overweight body. I don't believe I qualified as a patient or person based on his attitude. He informed me I should walk and lose weight before he could help me. If I could have gone walking, I wouldn't have been seeking his help. I recognize 60 lbs overweight is a lot, but it does NOT warrant him the right to try to shame me by handing me a Gastric Bypass brochure. NEVER RECOMMEND
