Dr. Mendenhall stabilized me after crisis
Telehealth
After a nearly year long mental health crisis, I came out of multiple inpatient stays on a variety of medications. I was on and off meds frequently, and dealing with not only my underlying symptoms, but also withdrawals and side effects. I had diagnosis added and removed on a whim, and my life was extremely turbulent. Luckily, Dr. Mendenhall helped me stabilize back to my baseline, and I haven't had any issues for over 3 years. I was able to get back to my job full time, and since had my baby!He was the first psychiatrist who listened to me about how I felt numbed and needed to back down on meds, not just increase them with every symptom. Unfortunately he moved out of the system I was in; Texans, you have a real ally in Dr. Mendenhall!

Dr. Mendenhall was my psychiatrist for years. He was amazing very compassionate, understanding and always listened or heard me out. I highly recommend him! He was extremely patient with me every visit. Thank you Dr. Mendenhall for all the years you've worked with me. You truly helped me get back to the person I once was and need to be for myself and my loved ones. For that I'm truly thankful for. I was blessed to have you treat me for the time I had. I wish you and your family the best of blessings on this new begging you were given.

Thank you Dr. Mendenhall
Telehealth
I have been going to Dr. Mendenhall for three years and he has offered great knowledge, suggestions and support. He always listened to my concerns and asked me what I thought. I left each appointment feeling good about our discussion and my treatment plan. If I had a question or needed a medication refilled, I would hear back from him within a few hours. If you are in need of a provider, I couldn't recommend Dr. Mendenhall more.

Telehealth
I have been Dr. Mendenhall's patient for several years. Dr. Mendenhall helped me develop a holistic plan to manage my mental health. I greatly appreciated how Dr. Mendenhall addressed my well-being as a whole person-- medication, sleep, diet, exercise, therapy, etc. I am so grateful to have Dr. Mendenhall walking with me and providing such excellent guidance on my mental health journey. Thank you, Dr. Mendenhall!

So far ,after only two visits , so may update at a later date,I like Brian, he is matter of fact, told me a couple things that may be a diagnosis and wants me to be tested for a couple things. Which was a sigh of relief cause no one else has ever listened to me about how I feel and my symptoms. The first time I seen him I was feeling pretty great the second time I was an emotional mess at which time he put me on bupropion on top of my other med. I feel it was a quick decision but took it just the same. That didn’t work out. I was a mess. I wish I could see him more often to talk about more. Last time was a fifteen minute session. I have a lot of “ symptoms” so I hope the next time we can discuss more about me and how I feel and I hope I get calls very soon to be tested. I gave him a 3 stars cause I’ve only been twice.

Wish I was less trusting - I feel so betrayed.
Similar to the other negative reviews, I had a similar experience of Brian appearing to not listen or care and haphazardly throwing out medication and diagnosis. Appointments feel rushed and impersonal and I can tell he's just reading from my file when I see him again. I asked to be taken off my medication and he laughed at me. He put things on my record that are making it difficult to find health insurance - false things. I am in the dispute process. If you are looking for a health care provider - keep looking.

Don’t recommend
I had gone into this appointment with high hopes. Even at the first appointment I felt like he wasn’t listening or even trying to learn about me. I gave him many more tries, but it was the same everytime. My last straw was when he decided to put me on another medication; I said “I’m worried I’ll feel over-medicated”. He said back, “Well I’m not”. He then proceeded to add a 4th medication and increase the dose of my other meds. By far the worst experience in my mental health journey.

Dr.Mendenhall is a wonderful psychiatrist. He is compassionate and highly-knowledgeable. Best psychiatrist I have ever seen. I was misdiagnosed for years as having bipolar disorder and he discovered that I actually have borderline personality disorder. This changed my life because I learned that medications aren't a silver bullet but I had to work on my life through therapy instead.

This doctor clearly holds extreme negative judgments about certainty diagnoses, and does not function on the belief that, through treatment, patients can change. Basing treatment on 15 yr old history without knowing or wanting to learn recent events is not helpful. In fact it is 100% reckless.
