DVT
Being diagnosed with DVT, Dr. Mclaughlin placed me on a DOAC. My leg occasionally swelled during and after my 6 and 12 months followup visits. Fast forward two years later, and without confirming how well the prescribed DOAC was working, new blood clots formed in my leg. If not for my PCP who assumed the initiative to look into why this was happening, I could have very well been a statistic under Dr. Mclaughlin's care. All Dr. Mclaughlin stated afterwards was the prescribed DOAC didn't work and now I'm on two other blood thinners. In my opinion, Dr. Mclaughlin just really didn't seem to take an interest in my situation.

My mother was under the care of Dr. McLaughlin. I believe he made neglectful decisions that let to her unnecessary suffering and death. He and his staff routinely wrote off her concerns and complications and made her feel as though no one was paying attention to what was happening. Her disease progressed in an aggressive way but I do not believe Dr. McLaughlin responded with the necessary aggressive treatment. She could very well still be alive if she had been under the care of a more attentive and aggressive doctor. She passed painfully and traumatically and I place a lot of the blame for that on Dr. McLaughlin.
