Dr. Brian Kloss, DO

Dr. Kloss examined a 2nd degree burn on the palm of my dominant hand at the Syracuse, NY Veterans Hospital emergency room. Upon arriving, I was very apprehensive, but Dr. Kloss put me at ease almost immediately as he was very gentle and patient, calm and personable. He cleaned the wound, applied an appropriate dressing, and took the time to clearly explain the reasoning behind the treatment he had decided was the best treatment for my particular case. Dr. Kloss advised me to seek follow up care at the Burn Clinic at Upstate Medical (UM) at their earliest opportunity as a precaution. (48 hours later, I had been seen by a doctor at UM, who, in my opinion, could learn a lesson or two from Dr. Kloss with respect to bedside manner, compassion for patients, and the degree and technique with which my particular injury would best be treated. Two days later, a third doctor examined my injury at the VA, concurred with Dr. Kloss' treatment and 9 days out, I'm nearly healed. Thank you, Dr. Kloss!
