Lack of care will impact the rest of my life
I saw Dr Kitamura when I came in for a severe gash on my ankle. When I saw him he stated I was lucky with the location of my cut as it could not have caused major damage. He stitched me up and sent me out the door. I called back an hour later saying I was in significant pain only to be brushed off and told to take ibuprofen. My “laceration” was still bleeding down my leg 12 hours later. I went back in and was sent home by another doctor. Fast forward to three weeks later I was in significant pain. I would almost throw up when catching my foot on anything. I made an appointment with an orthopedic specialist and was diagnosed within 5 minutes of an examination with a severed anterior tibialis. I should have had surgery on it the day it happened. Because I did not, the repair surgery was significantly more challenging and ended up failing causing me to need another surgery a year later to graft the tendon. I will have problems the rest of my life due to the delayed treatment.

Avoid this guy if you can. I realize when you need emergency care it's hard to shop around, and that is probably the only reason this guy has a career. I found him condescending, unhelpful, arrogant, and more concerned with the time I was taking than with meeting my needs. When I questioned his decisions he grew hostile, and rather than explain himself just disengaged. I'm sorry Dr. Kitamura, but doesn't a patient have a right to be informed? This guy is a bad choice, stay away.
