I saw Dr. Hokeness as the OB I was scheduled to see was called off on an emergency, so I totally understand that he didn't have much opportunity to familiarize himself with my chart. I don't mind reiterating or expanding upon my medical history with providers--I'm chronically ill, so I'm pretty accustomed to being my own advocate!At first, Dr. Hokeness seemed confused as to why I was sharing background info with him (it was directly relevant to the questions I was asking), but he did listen. He was unable to answer any of my questions, but I guess I prefer honesty over guessing, so whatever. Then, despite the fact that at 16 weeks you definitely expect a baby to be higher in the pelvis (and I already had a visible bump!), he spent several minutes using the doppler to scan for a fetal heartbeat in my lower pelvis. Like, strangely low. Even knowing he was looking in the wrong place, it was very stressful to go so long without hearing her heartbeat.It didn't inspire confidence.

This doctor is the best, he is patient, he gives you a lot of information, everything you ask him, he will be honest and honest with you, he is fun, a good person who cares about your health, I recommend this doctor.
