After having a heart attack, my heart function was 30%, the left ventricular was damaged beyond repair and completely block, and I had a blood clot in the area of the damaged heart. About the same time I developed a herniated disk pressing on the sciatic nerve causing unbelievable pain in my back and left leg, so bad I was confined to a wheelchair. My only chance of relief was back surgery to remove the herniated disk. Because of my previous heart attack all doctors were reluctant to perform the surgery, but Dr. Haycook understood the level of pain and wanted to help me. He did the surgery and the pain was gone immediately. I was able to be begin exercising each day to regain my strength and improve my heart function. I just had a new echocardiogram and my heart function is back to 60% (Normal), the left ventricular is open, the damage area is almost completely healed, and the blood clot is gone. Dr. Haycook saved my life!!!!!!!!

I had an SI joint fused, prior to surgery I had pain only in the si joint, after surgery I had pain down my leg. I was told to stretch, effective for about 10 minutes. On the follow up in his office, I could only see the PA. His demeaner was... this is what I have to say, I don't want to hear your problem. Use Haycook in the past, but no more in the future.

Dr Haycook was referred to me by Dr McClone. They are in the same practice. McClone spoke very highly of him. Quote : "Diane knowing you as I do you will really like Dr Hayccok. I can't say that for other surgeons on our team." I have been a patient of Dr McClone for a few years. I trusted Dr McClone. During an hour-long appointment, he reviewed my MRI and his official diagnosis was that I had a VERY ANGRY BACK and surgery was recommended. And then the appointment was over. I made a follow up appointment to schedule the surgery. WHY? The staff at the practice are great. David my Physical Therapist is awesome. So I figured two out of three was good enough. At the 2nd appt. he told me that he could not offer the surgery to me. I asked why. He could not or would not tell me. So no explanation was given and the appointment was over. It all worked out because I found another surgeon to do the surgery and he didn't have ANY MALPRACTICE suits on his record.

Dr. Haycook performed surgery on my spine in 2005, and I've been ambulatory ever since. At my current age of nearly 79, spinal stenosis is catching up with me, but his surgical skill enabled me to enjoy many years of activity. Thank you De. Haycook.

Dr. Haycook has been an excellent surgeon, helping me with more than one issue with my spine. He performed an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, bilateral sijoint fusions with great success. I am grateful for his intervention; as I might have become quadriplegic without his help. Also my husband needed the same surgery after being in an auto accident with excellent results. As a side note, Dr. Haycook has a pleasant personality with great bed side manner. In fact I am scheduled for another revision of my si joint and not even nervous about it. I know I am in good hands.

Haycook was an hour and a half late and did not want to talk for more than five minutes. Haycook offered no options for treating the back issue and did not offer a referral to any other specialist.

I had gone to see Dr. Haycook with a spinal problem that turned out to need surgery (which Dr. Haycook considers as a last resort). It turned out that my work place had a program that would pay 100% if I went where they said to have the surgery, so I didn’t get to have Dr. Haycook do it. It was such a good experience consulting with him last time that I would not hesitate to go to him again. He was very kind and considerate.
