Unpleasant
We saw him a few times 18 months ago and he knew his medicine well but was below average regarding a Dr-patient relationship. While having an appointment with a dermatologist my wife was having a severely painful headache. The dermatologist recommended she see a Dr. ASAP to rule out stroke. When she went to Dr Anderson's to see about her head, he yelled at her for taking the recommendation of a dermatologist and wasting his time. That was our last appointment with him.

Wonderful experience
Had my first appointment with Dr Anderson, my annual physical. He was very friendly and thorough and spent a great deal of time with me. He was honest and forthright in what I need to do to be healthier. Follow-ups on my blood work were faster than I expected.

My husband had lab work in September 2021, didn’t get the results until Jan. 2022. Was told everything looked ok and to keep drinking water. Was told to come back in 4 months. He doesn’t know why because he did no lab work. Waste of time and money. Didn’t even ask if he had any problems. Would not recommend him.

Took my 94 year old Mom to see Dr Anderson for a health and prescription review. When addressing her need for Xanax for high anxiety issues, Dr Anderson became very argumentative, insisting she didn’t need the medication at all. This doctor has no compassion for any anxiety-related illness and what patients go through who have it. He was very unprofessional (slamming his stool against the wall and slamming the office door). I would not recommend this doctor to anyone

Awful?? Does not listen at all. He forms an opinion quickly and tries to belittle ur opinion. He will send you out to many doctors for invasive testing just to make himself look better. Do not go to him. He will leave you without your prescriptions and doesn't care. He is negligent.

I had an in-house visit last week, but for what transpired, I would have been safer with a telehealth visit instead. For the 2nd time during the pandemic, the Doc wasn't wearing a mask, so I asked him to put one on which he did, but then proceeded to lecture me on mask wearing which in his opinion in some ways does more harm than good. I would have thought that mask wearing was mandatory for medical professionals during this dangerous time.

I have been a patient for longer than I can remember. Last week he gave me a lecture about the futility of wearing a mask. According to him, wearing a mask to help stop coronavirus is about the same as using a chain link fence to stop mosquitoes. I don't agree with him so I am leaving. I found another PCP locally and managed to get my first visit this week. He decreased one med, added another and ordered a new set of labs, as he said the last set were too bizarre to make any valid impression impossible. I'm glad I changed!

I have been a patient of Brian Anderson for most of the past 16 years. I have learned that as good as he is, his staff is normal 'Low Country Pitiful'. When tests, prescriptions, referrals, etc., are needed quickly, be prepared to make numerous phone calls, emails and even visits to the office to insure they get done. You would also be well advised to check and double check whatever you get from the office. He works for Candler/St. Joseph, as does his staff, so as much as he would like to fix the problem, it isn't going to happen. If you judge medical office staff by how friendly they are, whether they comment on your hair style or shoes, or smile at you, then you will be 5 Star happy. If, however, you want quick, competent follow through, well, 2 Stars is more like it. I know the limitations of the office and accept those limitations, so he is my primary physician. Oh, and this all makes my wife crazy, but she is coming around!

I liked Dr. He was helpful. I switched insurance and needed my prescription refilled. This process was like pulling teeth it was about a week process, faxing my new card, phone calls and then staff never told me they didnt take my new insurance!!! I faxed my insurance card to them, no one mentioned they didnt take that carrier, they appeared contracted online. Im glad I caught it and moved on.

I have been seeing Dr. Anderson for about 20 years now. What I like best about him is that he will tell you like it is. Some people are offended when told things they don't want to hear like they are overweight or depressed - but I want to hear a doctor's honest opinion without sugar coating. You will get that from Dr. Anderson. He has helped me with various sports related injuries as well as internal problems and I have always been impressed with his knowledge and candor.

I have leukemia and Dr Anderson has made several notable catches related to the side effects of the drug therapy. He's not my oncologist but has quickly recognized blood clots and fractures requiring neurological follow-up.
