Unprofessional
Inconsiderate, unprepared, made extremely snarky comments, and didn’t read up on my family member before the appointment. He actually made me so anxious that I almost passed out after leaving the consultation room. I know this apt wasn’t about me, but he should not be able to get away with such vile bedside manner. He initially sarcastically said to me “that was really nice of you to give up your chair” while he was bringing in another chair for the pt despite him comfortably sitting on the exam table all so that pt could have a chair right by the computer so that Dr lashner didn’t have to reach over his shoulder to talk to him while he read his medical hx in the chart for the first time. Had I known that I was supposed to give up a chair, I would happily have as the Cleveland clinic second opinion was my idea and I drove my loved one multiple hours to see this Dr. As a nurse, I’ve never heard of a Dr talk to a family member like that.

Very poor listener and communicator
Cleveland Clinic is supposed to have top doctors, but this physician is mediocre at best. Interrupted, didn't listen, repeated things back to me that I didn't even say, didn't explain anything, and rushed me out the door. This guy needs to retire now. I have no confidence that he even has a clue as to what's wrong with me, because no human could with the poor approach he took to my diagnosis. I've seen many physicians from diverse specialties through the years, and Dr Lashner is at the bottom of the list.

Dr. Does not listen. Interrupting. I would tell him one thing and then repeat the complete opposite back to . Didn’t read notes that were submitted. He had no clue what I was talking about. Said that he was going to call us immediately after telehealth. Waited by the phone for over an hour. Never spoke to us again

Dr. Lashner sat with me on my telehealth call for less than 15 minutes. Told me my abdominal issues were anxiety related (I don’t have anxiety) I had extensive notes from the past year to track patterns and he told me none of that mattered. He refused to do a colonoscopy and put me on a diet that didn’t even make sense for what I was being seen for. I went to a second dr and they immediately did a colonoscopy and said it was foolish that he didn’t with my reported concerns. They found the issue and I’m currently going through treatment. Please, if he blows off your concerns get a second opinion! It could save your life!! I’m a 25 yo F and he assumed I was overreacting rather than treating me. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!!

Disappointed
Let me start by saying this was one of the oddest encounters I’ve ever experienced in healthcare - I was utterly speechless upon walking out. I drove 5 hours for this provider to spend less than 10 minutes with me, where he acted like he was confused and somewhat irked at my mere presence from the moment he walked into the door. He barely engaged with me, and stopped me from speaking in the beginning because he was attempting to navigate the EMR which he claimed to be confused as to why I was there in the first place and asked “what I wanted?” ——Side note - I was referred to him by another highly competent Cleveland Clinic provider (who was incredible) who had written a great detailed note about this referral and reasoning, yet he obviously did not read it nor take the time to prepare. I’ll spare the rest of visit encounter details as it was insanely brief and finished out equally confusing. I hope he was just having a bad of sorts and this wasn’t his normal care routine.

Physician did not take me seriously
I visited this physician twice. Both times he denied my personal experience with my previous diagnosis. He was not phased by the fact that I was feeling a level eight pain. He suggested that I either had covid or a stomach bug when I came in suggesting that I was having a flare up of ulcerative colitis. I do not trust this physician with my healthcare at all. I got a second opinion after my second visit with this particular physician and was told that I was exhibiting symptoms of ulcerative colitis.

Very Disappointing
Unfortunately, this doctor was either not in the mood to show interest in a new patient, or not capable of doing that, or just plain too tired to gather energy to extend himself. (Due to our son's previous doctors retiring, we needed an appointment with a new doctor to refill two prescriptions.) Our first visit with Dr. Lashner produced the prescriptions our son needed. But it was clear from the outset that he was not a doctor who was comfortable with interaction. He asked a few questions. If we gave an answer that didn't focus on what he was really asking for, he quickly interrupted to explain his question. He should have done that in the beginning, instead of throwing out a broad question and expecting us to understand what he was looking for. Eg. He asked: "What is Fragile X syndrome?" I answered: It is a genetic condition that"-- which is as far as I got before he interrupted with some irritation, and said: "No, what does it do to the body?!" It went downhill from there.

Had a good visit over 6 months ago. Was not very personable but I just needed a refill of a prescription. I had the referral from the online prescription service I use send several referrals. It has been 2 months since I have been able to take my required medication. It has been two weeks since I have had the referral sent to Dr. Lashner but it has not been signed. I have had to call his secretary, admin at other offices he visits, and the complaint department in order to get this signed. He leaves on vacation tomorrow for a week. Hopefully he gets it done before he goes.
