Hospital hopped mid-pregnancy to see her
I was in the middle of my second high risk pregnancy when abruptly my baby's growth slowed. MFM at Lovelace was completely unconcerned. I happened to have an appt with Dr. McGuire later that day because my midwife was leaving practice soon and I could not get in at Lovelace where I was normally a patient. She immediately took my concerns seriously, ordered several labs, and scheduled another ultrasound in a week. Immediately switched hospitals, to see HER. When in labor with my third, everything hit the fan, the on call Dr. called Dr. McGuire so I could talk to her and be reassured, she had been at the west side all day, but came across town to deliver my baby via cesarean. I was still having hand trembles and shaking at my 6 week post partum, she did labs and we caught Thrombocytopenia. Previous Dr. would have assured me it was just shakiness from the blood loss during c-sections and not even tested. I literally trust Dr. McGuire with my life, and she has proven trustworthy.
