The care was okay but wait till you go through the billing nightmare. Even when you try to pay and bend over backwards to pay, they keep sending bill after bill like some magazine subscription you can't cancel. Then you pay it and another one shows up for the same service because they didn't bill you enough the first 3 times. A corrupt and irresponsible cash grab.

I’ve been seeing Dr. McRay for well over a decade. I have had many issues in the past with his office. The first one was after I enrolled in one of his allergy treatments. After 2 full years of paying him for it, he and the company that he contracted for the vials, decided to terminate the contract and left me hanging without any recourse. Fine, these contracts terminate unexpectedly sometimes. I gave him a pass and continued seeing him for others medical reasons. Lately(the last 5 years) when you need a doctor because one is sick, you can never see anyone (not even his PA’s) for a week or two. This doesn’t help a patient when they need the Dr. most. But of course, his office always recommends that you can still see them next door at his “urgent care”. The same people will see you the same there, however, you will pay more for the visit. I have been going to see Dr. Mcrae for years. I just went to Dr. Mcrae for Migraines this week and he was helpful in getting me everything I needed. He offered advice and made sure to walk through the options with me. He also helped me understand what the best route to take would be to not spend all of my money on medicine! He is patient and He is truly concerned about the health of those who come to see him.

Dr. McRae may be hard to get in with, but he is a very good, knowledgeable doctor. He was able to diagnose something on one of my grandchildren that no one else could. He also did a great job suturing my husband’s face up when he got in a boating accident.

I think Doctor McCrae and the PA’s are very qualified and easy to work with. The other staff is either incompetent or over-extended. Calls rarely get answered other than through an answering machine, and messages are either ignored for days or not properly followed up. This has been terrible for well over a year.

I have been going to them for years. I used to refer everyone I knew to them. But in the past year or so, it has been very frustrating to get a hold of anyone in the front office for an appointment, for test results, or for prescription refills. I just finally got a hold of the front office for an appointment and the wait time was a month! Finding a new primary care doctor.

While I do believe the PA's are excellent at Dr. McRae's office, I have been very disappointed with the entire office staff. They lack all sense of urgency when it comes to returning phone calls, answering emails, approving urgent surgery orders submitted by the radiologist at SMIL and providing test/imaging results. SMIL called me within minutes of receiving my mammography and biopsy results so that I wouldn't have to worry any further. I'm still waiting on McRae's office to call me. They did manage to call daily however, when there was an insurance issue to ensure they get paid! Lets just say I'm returning to my prior physician immediately!

Customer service has continued to decline. Very difficult to get ahold of front desk to schedule and then 3+ week wait time for an established patient appointment. I initially had a great and very knowledgeable FNP but since she left I have not really felt great about the whole overall experience with this practice. I will be looking for a new one.

This was my first visit to Health First Family Medicine. Dr. McRae's office was very easy to work with in term of setting an appointment, payment (even though I am covered through a Christian cost sharing program instead of traditional insurance). Dr. McRae himself was very knowledgeable and patient. He spent more time with me than I would expect. He also explained my specific issue, next steps, answer questions, etc with clarity. I am very pleased and would strongly recommend.

We saw Dr. McRae at Health First Urgent Care & felt we were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. We had a rather long wait, but it was at the end of their day and someone with a broken bone was needing his care, as well. He apologized to us for the long wait and explained the situation to us when he arrived to the exam room. I felt we were appropriately triaged & his kindness & thoroughness shown towards my mother, when he saw her, made it well worth the wait.

Dr. McRae has been a huge help. Both of my girls have had some health issues. He addressed all our concerns and I feel like we are in great hands.

Dr. McRae went above and beyond in helping my daughter get well. He was very patient with her and was thorough in trying to find the cause of her extended high fevers. I would definitely recommend him and his office to friends and family!
