He listens and extremely caring. Unlike most psychiatrists he is not medicine happy. Unlike most Doctors who send you off with a cocktail of meds that makes you sicker than ever, he is conservative in writing prescription.

Dr Madia helped save my life twice. The first time was during a deep depression. The second he diagnosed me with BPD when all other psych’s just wanted to medicate me and I am seeking DBT therapy only due to him. He has had a hand in saving my marriage. He listens, is casual and not egotistical, and most of all he’s super intelligent and good at his job. I am hyper critical of my doctors because I work in the medical field. I Highly recommend Dr Madia

Horrible. It would have been nice if the office staff had told me when I called to schedule the appointment 3 months ago that he was leaving. No wonder many appointment slots suddenly opened up after 2 months of waiting. Turns out, he didn't listen or document anything I said at my first appointment. He increased my medication and added another. I started having severe side effects from the increase and the medication he added wasn't working. Office staff either didn't bother writing down my questions or wrote down what they wanted. Messages didn't get through to the doctor. After 5 back and forth phone calls, he tells me to take a medication I was on before (that didn't work). I decided to use the patient portal so my questions would be in writing. Still no response after after 2 messages in 2 days. Turns out, he doesn't use the portal and nurse admitted to checking it occasionally. I was now left abandoned and had to consult with Dr. Google on how to take this medication.

Worst experience ever. He was aggressive and made me feel like there was no hope for me. Referred me to someone else within the first 5 minutes. My previous doctor had prescribed several medications for severe depression, and Dr. Madia made me feel like I was a drug addict. Instead of asking me if I had thoughts of suicide, he asked if I had access to a gun. When I said yes because my partner works in law enforcement, he said, “Well I hope the gun is locked up in a safe place!” When I left his office, I felt more hopeless than when I went in. I am sharing my story because I worry for others who are feeling hopeless and go to see him for help. He made me feel worse.

Really bad experience. The doctor talked down to me, made assumptions about an external situation that happened without asking me first to verify details of a false account of things, and his office manager was demeaning towards me. As someone else stated in a previous review: first impression was good, but later circumstances proved troubling and unsatisfactory disregarding other health-related concerns. We each have preferences and interact with others in varying ways, so I won’t go as far as saying that I don’t recommend him, but just be cautious.

Been to see him three times. The first made a good impression on me, seems trustworthy. The second two were for 5 minutes or less. States he will refill a certain medication twice during last two visits, did not do it. Impression is in it for the money, not guidance of patients.
