Everyone experiences illness differently, even if diseases have the same cause. I was drawn to infectious diseases because of the opportunity to help people understand their disease and to help them get better.

I am broadly interested in history and anthropology. I have also studied the causes and effects of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, specifically Enterobacteriaceae and in tuberculosis.
