On Labor Day 2023, I suffered a very devastating injury to my foot. I had to emergency surgery in Lynchburg general hospital to put a external fixator in to hold it in place because I had no pulse in my foot. The orthopedic on call was wonderful and did a great job. Two weeks later I had the pleasure of meeting my surgeon Dr Brandon Bucker. Dr Bucker, met me at the Lynchburg surgical center bedside and was the most pleasurable, professional, doctor I could have ever asked for at such a traumatic event. If it wasn't for Dr Bucker, Don't believe that I would be walking today. In every visit since, and it's been a year, he is the epitome of a professional surgeon, a doctor, a coach, a cheerleader, and a friend. He is attentive, listens ,understands, and though I know he had a hundred other patients, he took out the time to just be a human being. I tried to think of a word to describe him and the only word that I could come up with was HERO!!

After suffering with hallux rigidus for decades I finally braved fusion. I wish I had done it sooner except I might not have had Dr. Bucker. My results are exceptional. I'm back to being an active, functional human. There could be no better result and I am enormously grateful.

Dr Bucker performed surgery to remove large heel spurs, and haglunds deformity. Then strengthened my Achilles with an FHL transfer. He is an excellent foot surgeon.
