Terrible treatment
I was in a high speed car accident, Dr Askam was my primary for my broken shoulder and ankle. Despite exhibiting signs of blood clots, Dr Askam approved me flying to a family event. Upon arriving I collapsed on the jet way and was diagnosed with both lungs and leg full of blood clots. After returning to Tucson after discharge from intensive care. I spoke to Dr Askam about and was advised that all I had was a broken ankle and that standard of care did not recommend any preventative treatment for clots. When I confronted him with the fact that I had two breaks in my ankle, five broken bones in my back and two in my shoulder, all on my left side, he reiterated that standard of care did not recommend preventative care. After firing Dr Askam I was attended by a specialist for my ankle and determined that I had not only two breaks in the tibia but a significant compression fracture of my heel and damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles in my ankle. All of which would be seen with an MRI.

Office wait time is generally less than 20 mins. Immediate post OP and with each visit to Dr Askam after my surgery he gave me explained prognosis and possible complications. Office staff courteous and very helpful. I would recommend Dr Askam to anyone needing to have ortho surgery.

Dr. Askam and the staff at TOA were so very pleasant and helpful and efficient. I was in and out of my appointment very quickly! And that included having two xrays and a cast applied to my arm. Dr. Askam was very personable and very clear in explaining things. I would recommend him to anyone with orthopedic needs. Awesome staff!

My mother recently fell and broke her hip. We saw Dr. Askam as an emergency orthopedic. Was a little unsure at first but, So thankful he was there, he has been wonderful with the surgery and post surgery events. he went out of his way to see my mother on his surgery day so she did not have to make another trip to his office as we were in town for another appointment. His scheduler Aricelli was very kind and helpful.
