Dr. Blake Welling is an excellent surgeon! My spinal surgery was a difficult one yet a success thanks to Dr. Welling! I ran into one of his nurses outside of work and she raved about his work voluntarily saying he was the best in the state. I so agree! Kristy Jansen, his P.A. is equally amazing! I would totally recommend them both!

Dr Wellington is an exceptional dr, he is a great brain surgeon and he is very informative after the surgery.

Went to the emergency room with the idea of getting my back looked at. But changed my mind and then I was given shot after shot and was knocked out. I just wanted to go home..Not really sure what happened to me but woke up in the recovery room and didn't get to even say anything before the surgery. But after I seen a man who didn't even come into my room saying ' took care of the bathroom problem and your back is better now' . Had now idea what he was referring to but I have a big problem with going to the bathroom and I think he might have taken the time to talk to me about what he was going to do with me in the surgery room.. I made an appointment to see if he would explain what happened to me. But he didn't even give me the chance to look into his eyes and see what his reaction would be. I'm sorry but I'm not happy about this.

Dr. Welling operated on my husband for an subdural hematoma, and then , a few days later, for an epidural hematoma, both in emergency situations. He was wonderfully kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable. He explained things patiently and very clearly. We could not have asked for a better neurosurgeon to save my husband’s life—twice!

I went in for issues with my back, he told me go get gastro by pass and thats it. He forgot that he works for his pateints that pay for his services. Very arrogant! Wouldn't take or recommend him to anyone, EVER!

He called me a day before my appointment or his receptionist and canceled said he had to go to surgery, so made me wait another two months to get an appointment with him and then I waited for 30 minutes in the reception room finally got into my appointment was in there with him 10 minutes told me he didn’t see anything wrong with my back even though when I stand up my legs, go numb and my left leg is totally numb all the time The MRI shows severe spinal stenosis and bulging discs and things like that but he just told me you know what just get a Gastro bypass. That’s what you need very rude, very uncaring as I was trying to explain to him some things he got up and walked out and said thank you we’re done. I’ll send your doctors my referral that you need to get Gastro bypass even though I told him I wouldn’t get it and then I had already researched it and they told me I was a bad candidate for it anyway he goes well you need it. I’m telling your doctors to get it totally full of himself

Don't see this guy for a complex CSF leak. All you end up with is a big medical bill. No help and no hope.

Dr. Welling is an amazing surgeon! He is very knowledgeable and kind. He put our minds at ease when our mom went to him for surgery!

Dr. Welling Kristy, Aubrey, and Scott, were phenomenal. Although pain management while in the hospital was challenging. Due to short staff and continued admission, it was difficult to meet all patient's needs. Scott checked in on my progress and was thorough in explaining why and where the pain was expected. Although still recovering from clerical surgery, my trust of a positive outcome remains. Love Ogden Regional.

very good. He explained what was wrong with with nerves in my lower back. He let me decide Surgery or no Surgery. I will decide in a few days. I am old, but, still feel young. Guess i will take a chance and go for the surgery.

This was not my first visit with Dr Welling. I have had several previous back operations with orthopedic surgeons. Dr Welling performed my last one! I was very pleased with his knowledge, demeanor, and the success I had with that surgery. That is why I came back to him for my neck problems. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone with neurological problems.

Pill pusher! I waited with a lot of pain for over a month just to see him. The day of my visit I waited over 2 hours pass of my appointment time. He took a quick look at my MRI and did not tell me why my back, hips, legs, and feet were in so much pain. I went home still in pain with no answers to my questions. Just some pills !

Dr. Welling didn't ask me about symptoms. He told me that because the scan didn't show major nerve pressure that he wouldn't do ANYTHING to help me, and right after wanted me out of his office, implying that he doesn't care at all if I have heavy pain and episodes of weakness in my legs for the rest of my life. How can I possibly trust a doctor who couldn't care less about his patient regardless of how much he knows?

Dr. Welling is more concerned with having his Fridays off, and spending your money and not returning patients calls, than he is talking care of my dad's spine. He pawns you off on assistants his staff is uneducated, rude and doesn't care about patient care. Go somewhere else! This is your spine don't take someone who only cares about your money's advice

Dr. Welling is a hoity toity who's oblivious as to how to treat a patient. My wife spent 6 weeks in a neck brace. Was advised to expect a call from him on the Tuesday at the end of 6 weeks. We never received the call. We called Friday and we were advised the Dr. was out of the office for a few more days. After calling back again because we were frustrated with the process. The some how he happened to be in the office. And he said, yes she could take the brace off.

Incredible surgeon and person! Had microdiscetimy L5/S1 and am just down to Tylenol less than 24 hours later. I felt immediate relief of my sciatica from ruptured disc with free floating fragment. Should have done it earlier! Thank you Dr. Welling!

Dr Welling recently performed a two level ACDF on me. He was always willing to answer questions, gave lots of information, and has helped me feel almost back to normal within 2 weeks time. That being said, it's necessary to follow his post-op directions and call with questions. I'd recommend him to anyone-he's great!
