I had an initial visit with Dr. Ekpete last week. I had to wait an hour to see her, which I had been warned about from the friend who referred me. The doctor is very nice, and does a great job of trying to educate you about the heart and heart-related issues and diseases. Unfortunately, most of it went over my head. Honestly, for me, when I see a doctor, I just want to know what's wrong with me personally and what that doctor is going to do to fix it. Perhaps limiting the appointment to just this information would cut-down on the wait time? Her nurse (who is the same girl who answers the phones, makes your appointments, checks you in, takes your vitals, orders your tests, calls in your prescriptions, etc.) is very nice but seemed quite frazzled and flustered which made me feel quite frazzled and flustered instead of comfortable that any follow-up requiring her attention might fall between the cracks. My friend said she is new, so maybe that's it. Overall, I was happy with my visit.

Great doctor !
I met Dr. Ekpete after experiencing afib while hospitalized. She is very thorough and makes sure to answer all my questions and concerns. She works closely with all my doctors and takes time to know me personally. Both my husband and I feel very confident in her care.
