Rude/Inconsiderate
Dr. Saadiyah was incredibly rude during my visit to Mt. Sinai hospital. I am in recovery from addiction and declined morphine. The nurse ended up giving it to me before the ordering physician could cancel. I was distraught, obviously it was not intentional but it scared me. When Dr. S came in she addressed it without me even bringing it up, I had already spoke to the nurse&resident about it and felt more comfortable. Dr. S, unprovoked, said one dose doesn’t lead to a relapse, per an unamed study. She was basically telling me I shouldn’t be worried at all, and nothing wrong was done. I respectfully said ‘you can’t really say that, I’ve seen people with years of sobriety lose it all after one drink.’ Dr. S In a strong tone said ‘I’ve been practicing emergency medicine for x amount of years, so yes I can say that.’. I was appalled at the lack of acknowledgment for the mistake made; and disgusted that she told someone whose life is staying sober how to feel about an unwanted narcotic dose
