After hearing good things about her, I chose Dr. Handwerger from several ophthalmologists after consulting with her about having cataract surgery. I was impressed by her professionalism and kind manner and her help with my decision-making for my best lens options. The experiences I had with Dr. Handwerger and her staff were excellent from start to finish - through consultation, testing, pre-surgery, surgery, and post-surgery. And I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Handwerger for ophthalmology.

Dr. Handwerger is one of the best medical professionals I have been honored to work with. She is thorough in her examinations, she answers questions and she listens. Dr. Handwerger is a high skilled ophthalmologist who spends considerable time with her patients and is very complete with her exams, her explorations, and her answers to patient questions. She is always willing to address any concerns and answer any questions and is very personable in addition to being an expert clinician. I always feel very confident in her care. Her office is comfortable, and her front office staff is friendly and efficient.

From day one she explained everything clearly and set up a plan for my overall eye care. For 3 years she tracked my cataract condition and advised me when it was time for surgery. Switched doctors a few years ago with anticipation of eventual cataract surgery need and am I glad that I did. Very professional and concise. And I needed that surgery recently and the result (20/20 and able to read typical font!) was perfect.

Dr. Handwerger did my cataract surgery in both eyes and gave me perfect vision for the first time in my life. I've got complicated eyes (one lazy eye since childhood) so I needed the best doctor because I couldn't afford to lose vision in my "good eye." She knows her stuff, top of her game. She was attentive throughout, great surgery center, she put in the latest cutting edge lenses in my eyes and I emerged from the process seeing the world brightly and vividly for the first time in my life. Amazing doctor, great staff -- if you have cataracts run to this woman.

Dr. Handwerger has been my ophthalmologist for 8 years. She recently completed cataract surgeries in both eyes using LASER technology and trifocal lenses. My results are excellent with 2020 vision. Dr. Handwerger not only demonstrated her technical skills but really cared about my results. She made a special extra effort to reach out to the lens supplier to assure that my two lenses would work optimally together.
