Dr. Ivey comes across like an overall nice guy. He was really easy to speak with and explained the procedure and follow up so we could understand. I would highly recommend him.

Dr, Ivey did a TURP surgery on my 86 year old father who has some dementia. Before and after the surgery Dr. Ivey impressed me with his bedside manner. He was great with my confused dad and took plenty of time explaining things to us. Dad had some unrelated complications after the surgery which kept him in the hospital longer than normal, and Dr. Ivey came by the room several times to check in on us and talk. My dad would light up and smile whenever Dr. Ivey came by. If/when I need a TURP,

He said we would talk once more prior to surgery to make sure I understand everything and that we are both in agreement. We booked the surgery, and on the day of, he never consulted with me, they just put me under and did the surgery. The surgery result was not good and required a second corrective surgery.

I found him to be a good listener, and was very open to discussing alternate remedies not offered at his clinic. I had done my research ahead of time, and Dr. Ivey was open to discussing this with me.

Very dismissive of my own research and concerns during a vasectomy consult appointment. I wanted an open-ended vasectomy, which he did not advise but said he would do if I insisted. I booked a future appointment for the procedure and emailed him links to PUBLISHED medical studies about the advantages of the open-ended vasectomy method. When the date of my procedure came up, I checked and found my appointment had been cancelled without any notice. Coincidence? I think not.
